Jan. 6 Committee Presses Jim Jordan For Information | Talking Points Memo

But Speaker of the House Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) blocked Jordan from taking that position, denying the auctioneer-talking representative the ability to thwart the inquiry from within.

It was more that she knew Jordan was quite probably an instigator and planner of January 6th. How could she allow a perpetrator to be an investigator?

Are you referring to the shower room at Ohio State, Jan 6, or both?

Yes!

I so look forward to him and all the rest of the traitors being expelled from Congress and then arrested for treason.

According (or not specified) in the 14th Amendment, it’s therefore any damned way the House decides.

The key aspect of deploying 14th Amendment Section 3 disqualification is an insurrection finding by the House.

So this isn’t a fantasy. The House and Senate expelled many members this way after the Civil War.

I have to say that few things would make me happier than Rep. Jordan in irons, his clothing filled with maggots, and his skin covered with blood-sucking leeches.

The House Jan. 6 Committee asked Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) to provide information about the Capitol insurrection

Okay, okay. Baby steps.

I’d say he’s already in significant legal jeopardy. He can either incriminate himself in a conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, or take the 5th, or refuse to show. Either of the latter two options results in a criminal referral to DoJ. Plus they make him of interest to those who’ve already filed civil suits over having to defend against the capitol hill assault.

Jordan said at a Rules Committee hearing, “I have nothing to hide. I’ve been straightforward all along.”

He’ll get over it.

Didn’t the committee already access the phone records from the phone companies? They don’t have the exact content of texts and calls, but they have the dates and times the calls were made as well as to whom the calls were made…

They do not. (Otherwise all those thumb-headed henchmen who keep filing suits to block the committee getting those would be moot.) There’s a good likelihood, in my non-expert opinion, that the FBI has that, already, however.
