When Speaker Scott was inaugurated he had former Republican Governor Bob McDonnell at his side. It was the governor who commuted his sentence and they had a good relationship since. The advocates for restorative justice understand this, unfortunately the retrograde GOP in the state doesn’t.

Fani Willis earns six figures and conceded she has at least one bank account where she receives her direct deposits from Fulton County and the state, plus she concedes she has at least one debit card.
It’s a very convenient excuse that makes her repayment claims untraceable. “Oh my house money explains it all, how dare you ask for documentation that might contradict the receipts that showed he paid for everything.” And it’s a bright red flag that she won’t even let the judge see her bank statements in camera.
Shadiness needs to be disproved, not just theorized away.

I have mixed feelings about the case. Yes, the affair was stupid, but it does seem like a fishing expedition into her personal life was allowed to get to court without any actual evidence of wrongdoing. The personal relationship itself isn’t a crime, and trying to keep that relationship on the down low by explicitly avoiding documentation about strictly personal stuff isn’t a crime. If that’s all that’s happening here, that has obviously backfired on her, but we still don’t have any actual proof that she has misappropriated public funds or personally benefited, right?
Am I incorrect about that? In your experience, has this case warranted trial? While it seems outrageous to claim that she paid for stuff with cash, has anyone been able to poke holes in that claim with any evidence, or even by showing that this appears to be the only time she has paid for something big with cash?

I’ve only gotten to p4 of Trumps reply to Smith in SCOTUS immunity case stay request, but the logic already cratered. If they think their client is innocent why wouldn’t they want that proven before the election? Seems like Trump’s aim should be to be acquitted* before the election.
Oh…wait….
*Or declared immune, since this is what the argument is about.
