What is good about that, is it might get them off the hook legally but it is still worth investigating and getting the news out. Also, I think I heard two of the NM frauds were cooperating, so even if a prison sentence isn’t involved…a good result may come of it. I think if the PA and NM contingents and all their enablers spent some time ‘in the barrel’ it would be a good thing…even if you don’t have them nailed and convictable. The other 6 states, this should be a 3 ring circus of circular firing squads where the entire state R party is involved and seeing who can squeal on the others first.

Given the many injustices we see in the US every day, I understand your viewpoint. Regardless, when compared to the justice systems of many, many (did I mention many?) other countries, the US is a beacon.
Thanks for reminding me that we joined China, Iraq, Israel, Libya, Qatar, and Yemen(!!!) in voting against the Rome Statute. If I recall, it was because US soldiers, blah blah, corrupt court, etc., fake war crimes. Basically, the Empire can’t have its world-wide deployed soldiers exposed to accusations of war crimes.

Just because something isn’t on some individual’s desk doesn’t mean it’s not happening, just means that everyone in the office knows who can’t be trusted to keep their mouths shut, so the teams working on the most sensitive stuff are never the ones the reporters get to talk to until it’s all over.

Yours is the bullshit. DOJ was wrong to work the case, literally by the book, from the bottom up when Trump’s crimes were open and obvious, but the first year was spent in an effort to link him up, in a command and control way, to the physical insurrection. That theory appears not to have panned out. In the meantime, they were building the documents case, seizing Rudy and Clark and Eastman’s shit, and generally building their way up to a case against Fat Donnie. They were surprised over Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony because they hadn’t gotten around to interviewing her, but everybody was surprised with what she had to say when she finally came clean to the J6C. There wasn’t any particular reason to think that she held the keys to the kingdom or that she wasn’t going to lie and dissemble just like she actually did in her first three interviews.

We didn’t even grab their phones for 1.5, 2, 2+ years after the incidents.
So much of this would have been live during the '22 election instead of buried. I see people here cheering that this is going to affect the '24 election but the DoJ let a whole year pass…and J6C went way too hard on Chump alone when there were dozens and dozens of Congress critters running in '22 that never had a glove laid on them.
Whole state parties that were involved in attempting to steal or overturn the entire '20 election were still running things in '22. Our current congress is dominated by those who were up to their necks in '20 malfeasance.
