Yes, but then they would be robbed of their “important victim” status!
I like Joe. He’s certainly free to run for president, but I hope he doesn’t. He should stay out of the race with his dignity as an elder statesman more or less intact. Every one of the pictures that are published remind me of the hit job on Anita Hill that really can’t be explained away as innocent affection.
I’m a hugger of Joe’s generation. I’ve had to rethink my actions after I completely startled another woman whom I had known online for quite a while by hugging her the first time we met face to face. Though we remained friends, she let me know later that she felt I had invaded her space, and I’ve been more careful since.
I am, too.
It’s a blessing and a curse.
I stand corrected, although I do seem to recall some harsh attacks on other candidates by you. I’ve no need to doubt you, however.
For the record, I’d like to see someone other than an aged, white male as the Democratic nominee. We’ve had enough of those. And B.S. is the last of the current candidates that I want to represent the Democratic Party in 2020. He’s already done enough damage.
And you did a poor job.
Well, that is indeed weird.
From that accuser’s now-deleted blog post: “President Putin scares the power elite in America because he is a compassionate, caring, visionary leader. … To President Putin, I say keep your eyes to the beautiful future and maybe, just maybe America will come to see Russia as I do, with eyes of love.”
Granted, it’s easy to confuse oppression and killing journalists with compassion and care.
A touching counterpoint:
Oh, shucks. I bet you say that to all the girls.
I am sorry for Biden’s personal pain, and I am also sad for the massive “personal pain” Joe Biden caused by his support of the Iraq War. Hundreds of thousands dead, wounded, and maimed. A trillion dollars wasted.
Mr. Foreign Policy Expert got the most important vote in his career wrong, and that is what is most unforgivable.
Particularly because Cheney’s lies were obvious even at the time.
Once a clown, always a clown.
georgeh replied on his own and cleared up the matter with less words and more intellect. Why you even felt the need to reply is puzzling.
But please proceed, Gov. Romney.
While it’s great to see these women’s awakening, one of my favourite feminists Virginia Woolf said in A Room of One’s Own that " They too, the patriarchs, the professors, had endless difficulties, terrible drawbacks to contend with. Their education had been in some ways as faulty as my own." Paternalistic behaviour is a social, systematic phenomenon that has been and is still being enabled by the whole society. It’s fine to call for attention of such behaviour, but once the person (in this case, Biden) has realized his impropriety, I think people should move forward and try to address the root of the problem instead of targeting that person relentlessly.
You’re buying a house. The person with the best reputation in the business in your area, the most knowledge of the market, the greatest rapport with local lenders, a former builder of homes with a keen eye for quality, is an aged white male. Your goal is to find and buy the best home for your money.
Do you bypass this realtor because of his age, gender and race, dismissing what you yourself may assess are qualifications and experience ranking him ahead of other realtors you could use?

Regardless of what either you or I think, Senator Sanders has some of the highest national approval ratings of any politician, Democrat or Republican. And so does Joe Biden.
Both can be assets to the Democratic Party.
B.S. is not the best qualified, the most knowledgeable, and certainly doesn’t have the best reputation of the candidates running. His complicity in the election of trump disqualifies him; at least for me.
Your analogy is flawed on so many levels as to be laughable.
I disagree, at least with respect to B.S.
Please don’t link to paywall websites when others are available that will actually work.
It’s seems like insanity that this guys is even being considered. Did you learn NOTHING from HRC? She was old-money hate, and was old school. Bidden is old-money old school and only slightly less hate. I hate age discrimination - I’m in my late 50s, I’ve felt it. THIS GUY IS TOO OLD.
HRC was not defeated because she was a woman. She lost because she has been vilified for decades by the GOP.
DECADES. This isn’t about who deserves it.
Your quote:
“For the record, I’d like to see someone other than an aged, white male as the Democratic nominee.”
Your preference was not limited to excluding Biden or Bernie. You are essentially saying if ANY aged white male gets the nom you’ll be disappointed, regardless their qualifications and prospects of winning. Your goal is not the best candidate. Your goal is let’s nominate anyone not an aged white male. In your own words. An HR director discovered excluding a specific subset of candidates from a hiring pool for reasons having nothing to do with their ability to perform the job would be viewed dimly by shareholders. If, after the gauntlet that is the nominating process it emerged the consensus best candidate was a 68 year old white man, you would object, and if asked why say “His qualifications for the job are irrelevant and immaterial, he’s a bad nominee because he’s an older white man.”
We should all be glad you’re not the head of the DNC.
