Discussion: Warren Blasts 'Small, Insecure Money-Grubber' Donald Trump (VIDEO)

The good news is that this is a carefully thought out surgically precise Trump’s button pushing attack and the kind of thing that needs to be done a lot with the goal of turning his dominance games against him and making him look weak and childish by Labor Day.

The bad news is that the Beltway MSM long ago cast in conventional wisdom concrete that Elizabeth Warren is not a Very Serious Person whose views and statements need be given any weight or consideration. In their minds, she’s in the same category as Alan Grayson or Roger Moore. Just a bomb thrower who doesn’t Seriously understand the Very Serious Issues that Serious People in Washington consider to be Serious. And this belief has only hardened as time as revealed that she has committed the unforgivable sin of being right about things they were wrong about.

Nothing she says will be reported by them except in a freakshow narrative. Nothing she ever says will be internalized into the MSM CW narrative.

They’re never going to take Trump’s mental problems seriously, and report on them as a serious problem for the nation, until some Very Serious Person who they consider to to be Serious talks about them. And, unfortunately, the only people whose opinions matter to them, the chronically wrong warmongers and deficit hawks like Lindsay Graham, McCain and Ryan are climbing onboard the Trump Train to Hell.

His supporters are not her audience… this familiar 30% of the electorate has long been a lost cause. She talks to progressives… and thin-skinned Trump himself who dishes it but can never take it. And dang, she is powerful and effective there.

Agree, but would only suggest that these kinds of take-downs have the potential to go viral and bypass the mainstream media.

I don’t know, I picked up this story in the MSM this morning. It had her picture and everything.

The people who are affected by viral campaigns are people who are already inclined to vote against Trump. The target here is the “undecideds,” the indies who are insufficiently civic minded to pay any goddamn attention to politics until right before the election and yet are too civic minded to not vote. And that demographic happens to be the one most attuned to the MSM narrative and least influenced by social media.

2,010 google hits is nearly invisible. Obviously, people who think “money-grubbing” is a specifically anti-Semitc epithet don’t write about it on the Internet.

Granted that the “money-grubbing Jew” is a stereotype of long standing (from Zacchaeus to Shylock to Fegin), it just isn’t an Internet meme.

What this article doesn’t mention is that, at this point, she’s directly repeating Hillary Clinton’s talking points. Earlier in the week, Hillary released a statement and then put out a video saying that Trump had cheered for the housing market crash. I realize this is not an exact endorsement of Hillary Clinton, but it is. I really wish Warren would buck up and endorse Hillary. It would go a long way towards signaling that this primary is over.

I’m not sure, I can see this message striking a populist nerve among people who are only moderately informed and on the fence about Hillary…

The season is young. These are just the opening salvos.

If all she is doing were this sort of speech, it probably wouldn’t have gotten much attention. What has made her headlines so far is her Twitter onslaught against Trump, and that’s because Twitter was the most effective tool for Trump during the primaries and her (warm-up, I’d say) attacks are through that very medium (she even uses the Trumpist haiku style to mock him now and then).

And that’s something new. Trump silenced the GOPers in the primaries via Twitter, but Warren keeps taking on him. I think that’s the key part that can go viral and then draws the MSM’s attention… and I suspect she is doing this Twitterfest fully aware of the impact.

She’s in the same category as the worst James Bond? Who knew?

I’m pretty sure Warren doesn’t give a shit about the Trump supporters who use money grabber/grubber to refer to Jewish people.

She used the term because it’s an accurate description of the Donald. She isn’t using it to stereotype and discriminate against an entire community, but applying it specifically to an individual who fits the term.

“It is man who cares about no one but himself. A small, insecure money-grubber who doesn’t care who gets hurt, so long as he makes a profit off it. What kind of man does that? A man who will never be president of the United States.”

Go Liz! I love you!

LIke I said, they’ll report it in freakshow fashion: “ha ha ha Crazy Liz said a thing and boy it’s just crazy!” But they’ll never internalize it into their own CW narrative as long as it’s coming from her. On the contrary, they are still blowing out discs contorting themselves into whatever ridiculous position is necessary to avoid noticing that there’s anything even a bit out of the ordinary going on in this election.

The intermediate step between internalization into the narrative and the freakshow reporting is treating it as “it’s out there so it’s fair game” story. “Democrats say Trump has a serious mental health problem. Republicans, however, say ‘mental health’ is a liberal myth created to steal money out of the pockets of hard working white people. Whichever side is right, one thing for sure is this controversy isn’t going away anytime soon. Back to you Wolfe.” Even getting it to that stage will require a different messenger.

Trump’s response to Warren’s attack, is Warren and her husband flipped houses back in the day, so she is a hypocrite.

Love it! Perfect!

Me too!

Calling a Jewish person “money grubbing/grabbing” is despicable because it plays into stereotypes that have been used to discriminate (and worse) against them for centuries. Not because there is anything wrong with the term itself.

This is different from say, the N word, which has no meaning outside of its use to denigrate a group of people (not including the recent appropriation of the term by the black community).

Of course he did. Because Trump’s base consists of people who think that makes perfect sense.

Warren is the bridge between Bernie and Hillary. She hasn’t endorsed either. My guess is she will jump on board the moment Bernie drops out. Until then she is sending a strong message to progressives–Trump is the real enemy.
