Really?
I didn’t know that money grabber was disparaging to Jewish people.
I thought it was disparaging to the money grabbers, like trump, since his idol is the almighty dollar.

I never made that connection either.
Little stumps. Stumpy Trump.
That is OK. She made the news. When it comes to making the news in this environment “very serious people” need not apply. The media wants a reality show. Liz can supply 1/2 of that. Let Donald diminish himself by suppling the other half. Hillary can rise above.
@ncsteve
My sense is closer to Randy’s – we are still at the stage of talking about (and concerned about) unifying the party, and that’s where Warren comes in. There are other people talking to the middle – and Obama, I think, will cover a wider spectrum than Warren, but when it comes to on-the-fence progressives specifically Warren is probably the most effective voice.
True, but if you google money grubbing Italian, or money grubbing (fill in blank) you probably with get the same results.
Oh I just said basically the same thing curmudgeon. Wish I saw your comment first.
Randy, like X 1000!
Warren’s bypassing the turgid MSM cabal and talking directly to the voters.
This will push Trump’s buttons, big time.
But what surprises me is that TPM didn’t headline this as “Pocahontas Scalps Trump”.
Thank you for saying it.
LOL. Well, that wouldn’t take much effort, seeing as most of his head is covered by comb-over.
And he’ll call her Pocahontas, because that makes his racist fans hoot and holler. I’m thinking there’s still a slice of Americans who would be repelled by that, but (sigh) I recognize I could be wrong.
Rachel Maddow showed a bit of Trump speaking last night about this issue. He totally owned up to it and turned it into a big crowd pleaser by asking them what was wrong with wanting to make money. The crowd went wild.
Oh knock off the money grubbing Jew crap. She didn’t call him a Shylock or something truly stereotypical. She used a commonly accepted phrase, not associated with Judaism in modern usage. Warren knows how to write a speech, and she knows how to work the crowd. When she called Trump “moneygrubbing,” the audience applauded.
I really don’t care if there is some etymological argument for antisemitism. Etymology doesn’t win elections. I care about the future of America. Warren cares, and she’s taking action. She knows how to take effective action. This speech was effective. Knock off the Tail Gunner crap.
Donald Trump could reach into his pants, pull out a turd and that audience would eat it up. Seriously gross people.
The thing that’s important here is not just the “money-grubber”, it’s the “small, insecure” part. Trump won the republican primary season on the basis of being a bigger alpha-male assh*le than all the other candidates. If the general election conversation is about how the blustering bully is really an insecure wimp underneath, he’s toast.
Also the characteristic of those who vote for him.
Trump wants to make America great by imposing a 30% tax on products being sold in the United States by those nasty companies that took their manufacturing overseas.
That means your $500 iPad will now cost $650. Thanks, Republicans!
That crowd has the cognitive dissonance of an overly ripe banana. The response for the non-cult members is that while he’s running a populist campaign on working people getting screwed, he’s the one who screwed them and he would do it again in a heartbeat.
Is the cover story of next month’s Atlantic serious enough?
