Which as I already explained above, is the unprecedented encroachment on Executive powers of enforcing agreed to treaties, in this case, the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (which was ratified decades ago).

I hope that it works, but it may not. Allowing weapons imports will likely stem the flow of smuggled weapons into the country and thus flowing into ISIL or local groups, but at the same time, it may further destabilize the area as legally obtained weapons are stolen or sold off.
It’s a risk, but one that is probably better than anything else.
Yeah, but that is the way it is now. It largely does not make much of a difference other than they are delaying the process two months. They voted to give themselves oversight of this deal and probably had the votes to overcome a veto. I guess it could be challenged i court but that would simply drag out forever while negotiations were going on.
Largely, the GOP only cares when they think Obama is doing something. Overreach by anything else may be ok by them. I mean Obama went along with it to shut them up largely, but given they only have illusion power here it does not much mater.
I imagine it will be great fodder for them politically in debates. “I voted against it because it was a bad deal” and so on. Rhetorical shots are what the GOP are best at.
I guess he got is orders from Bebe to say this and to kill any deal with Iran. Who will the GOP blame when Iran gets the bomb once they kill the deal? They were already well on their way to getting the bomb during the Bush years and were quite advanced in their attempts. If this deal dies that will be what causes the other mideast countries to seek the bomb. The GOP will have accomplished this with their stupid obstinacy.
I don’t disagree. But wanted to make clear this fit-pitching to the point of intruding on Constitutional powers is truly unprecedented. The ODS and partisan over country shit by the GOP is not only an pathetic, but dangerous.

This is the problem for republicans. Worry is all they have to sell.
All they see now is a popular president doing a popular thing and they are terrified it reflects well on Obama. If Obama, in historical terms, is given the credit he deserves,then the history will also reflect the nakedly racist treatment he has been subject to his entire presidency.
Not to mention a popular Obama means President Hillary. This means another 8 yrs of veiled attacks, against women this time. They don’t understand hypocrisy, but do understand the republican Id will not be quiet about their misogyny as it hasn’t been quiet on its racism.
Half of the elderly white base of the party are women, and I’m sure they see that letting loose on women as they have on minorities cuts into this base.
