Remove the Band-Aid and you’ll have it even more right.
GOP is free to use FY18 budget reconciliation to pass taxes and O’care repeal. They’re rushing because they don’t give a fuck what the actual policy is, and comments like this and Grassley’s admission yesterday should be replayed endlessly during midterms.
For the past 7 years, they have been addressing HC repeal and have so far , failed miserably…always tomorrow with these fucks…what motivation will they ever have to address the obviously flawed medical system disaster we currently suffer with? How many people will die needlessly for the sake of a tax bonanza for their wealthy enablers…America, let’s get together and put a stop to these malingering frauds.call your representatives and let them know you don’t want 5o die for the sake of their empty legislative “win”
You lying SOB. Take your bible and your sanctimonious BS and shove it. You would FK your own mother and then whine about who you eat dinner with. For Christ’s sake. You danced your azz off about ‘sequester’ and ‘pay fors’ and caring about the economy and NOW ‘we can discuss it later’? You LIAR. You complete fking FRAUD.
He’s a terrible liar though.
well he is a modern day Republican
(important correction)
Yes. They have no intention of having a healthcare “plan.” This is just step one of unraveling the safety net, so billionaires can fly across crumbling infrastructure to privately owned islands and then when the heat gets too hot, they think they’ll escape into outer space. Too bad they didn’t pay attention in their history and science classes.
Most (many?) working people making more than a subsistence wage probably work for a company with some sort of benefit package. Such people are predominately white, middle and upper class. They contribute to candidates, PACS and campaign committees. People on the bottom rung of the economy, the unemployed, the long term sick and disabled that aren’t writing those checks or trekking to the polls voting GOP can eat shit and die as far as Republicans in Congress are concerned. They’re nothings, nobodies, scum, takers. Their healthcare concerns are of no consequence. Policy will not be crafted with their welfare in mind. Period.
Our AZ governor is saying essentially the same thing. And it falls in line with Grassley’s inept statement yesterday.
“The ACA is so bad, because we say so, no reasons, we just say so, that in order to save the nation from creeping socialism, we must pass any replacement law, however nasty, and worry about the consequences later.” That’s it. That’s the GOP messaging.
Why don’t they just do a clean repeal? At least that would be an honest stab in the heart, and not a pusillanimous stab in the back.
Kornacki and another woman were talking about this on MSNBC this morning. She said that republicans had seven years to come up with a replacement and they’ve failed to come up with something that appeals to most Americans. Instead they’re trying to ram this through with no democratic input at all. It has to be a bipartisan effort. Then she said this is exactly what happened with the ACA. Republicans had no input in the bill.
Oy. Why was that, Miss whoever-you-are?
The woman is Elise Jordan … She used to work for Rand Paul. She’s usually on target. I was surprised she didn’t acknowledge the Repug changes incorporated into the ACA.
It’s not about their base. It’s about our coalition. GOP operates on very tight margins. What happened in 2016 is statistically tough to repeat.
The GOP is after donor money and tax cuts for the rich. This has nothing to do with healthcare. It is terrible. It will not help people at all.
Translation: “I promise not to move the football out of the way next time.”
Thanks. I came in just at the end of that. My jaw hit the floor when she said that. Of course, no pushback from anyone.
I’ve learned the secret to prevent the photo thingy from popping up. Dimensions of image have to be smaller. But such a damned cute pig.
Mike Pence exhibits all the signs of having been repeatedly dropped on his head as a baby.
To be really accurate, the Band-Aid will already be applied, but Republicans will rip it off before the wound is healed.
He reminds me of a 3rd tier local news anchor:
Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) was on with Chuck Todd yesterday spouting nonsense about Graham-Cassidy and never answering Chuck’s questions. He said Obamacare was unfair bec. some states received more $$$ per person than others (e.g., California). Chuck pointed out this was typically true in states that expanded Medicaid. Johnson said that was UNFAIR and the per person rate should be the same in all states.
Using that same “per person” argument … why aren’t Repubs for an Electoral College that reflects a state’s population ?
Easy … There would never be another Repub president.
