Discussion: Mueller Wouldn't Accuse Manafort Of Lying Without Major Proof, Experts Say

I think that is what his Narcissism is hiding him from - his thorough cowardice.

I hope you are right, Squirreltown. It’s new info like the following, along with tear gassing children at the boarder that the cult train hs left the station

Look at his history. His entire story is the assumption of far more risk than he can afford, not being able to pay the costs, and taking a huge beating. If he has a plan, it’s the first time he ever did.

Paulie is in no condition to be spending any time in jail mixed in with general population where they will use him as a human punching bag ā€˜just because’. He really screwed the pooch this time.

There are plenty of legit things to be concerned about, but that goes for any day on the planet. The point is that he is a feckless wimp who is getting weaker every minute. He can’t actually do those things without a boatload of people agreeing to do them, not just Nielson and Kelly and some Border patrol officers.

And then walking away by filing bankruptcy or for divorce and proclaiming loudly that he won bigger than anyone has ever won in that arena believe me in all of history nobody has ever done what he’s done.

I think there’s every chance he’ll do it with the presidency. He is a coward and Mueller is scaring him to death.

Don’t forget…he actually wasn’t even planning to be President. Which is why his Administration was so flat-footed out of the gate.

We all know…however evil you think this Administration is on any particular issue, the truth is always far worse. And the corollary is, however stupid you think this Administration is, the truth is always far stupider.

ā€œWhile losing Manafort as a witness is no doubt a blow to Mueller’s investigation, it’s not without its silver linings, Cotter said.ā€

If they got Trump definitively lying because Trump’s written answers parroted Manafort’s lies, maybe the loss if Manafort as a witness isn’t that big of a deal and they’re just stepping up the ladder to the great Trump Administration and Republic Party take down we all know the righteous arc of justice bends towards.

Also, Trump has pretty much escaped any significant penalty for bad behavior/criminal behavior in the past. He’s been up against attorneys not in the Special Counsel’s league on those few occasions his opponents could even afford attorneys.

And, in Mueller, he’s up against the cream of the crop. The man who led the FBI in the post 9/11 days and took down Enron. He’s no rookie here.

This NBC article is such a blinding stunner I had to wear shades. The CNN piece is also strong (and I think a little more clearly written) but it has taken me some time to absorb their impact.

CNN/NBC have received draft court filings which were part of a proposed plea agreement between Corsi and the OSC. Corsi is stating that he is rejecting the deal, but in it Stone pushed Corsi to get the Wikileaks trove of emails from Assange. Corsi himself is accused of lying at least 3 times to the FBI (not surprising). Corsi passed on Stone’s request to Ted Malloch (whom Mueller interviewed months ago). Corsi got some information out of (or through) the Malloch channel and wrote an email to Stone which said the following:

Word is friend in embassy plans 2 more dumps. One shortly after I’m back. 2nd in Oct. Impact planned to be very damaging," Corsi wrote, according to the draft document. ā€œTime to let more than [the Clinton Campaign chairman] to be exposed as in bed w enemy if they are not ready to drop HRC [Hillary Rodham Clinton]. That appears to be the game hackers are now about. Would not hurt to start suggesting HRC old, memory bad, has stroke – neither he nor she well. I expect that much of next dump focus, setting stage for Foundation debacle.ā€

The draft statement of offense also accuses Corsi of scrubbing his computer and deleting all his emails from prior to Oct. 11, 2016. There is also additional evidence that Stone was trying to intimidate Randy Credico, who I believe Stone had set up to be his fall guy to protect himself, Corsi and the other members of his network.

I would expect the indictments of Stone and Corsi to fly soon.

The roll out for this from Mueller’s perspective has been great. He didn’t intend it this way, but the inadvertent leak of the Assange sealed indictment, Corsi’s rather foolish behavior, the Guardian article, and Mueller’s own outing of Manafort (which appears to have surprised him) have frozen Trump in place. Sarah Huckabee Sanders backpedaled today to avoid denying that ā€˜collusion’ happened, only that Trump had no role in it.

I’m sorry Mr. Town, you did not phrase it in the form of a question.

Please, it’s not technically a perjury trap. That’s where you lie or make a mistake that can be characterized as lying about something not crucial to the case against you. This is just plain perjury.

Not how I’d put it. He walked away each time into a more shaky, less legitimate business. No money from banks? Good, I’ll finance with junk bonds. That’s all done? Russian mob money. (Before the inauguration he had to quickly tidy up some super-shady deals, like in Azerbaijan, that most of us still don’t have on our radar.) Finally he sells his own nation down the river to get the property he wants. So he just got himself in deeper every time. This time he’s not going to walk away. Madoff walked away for a while too, until he didn’t.
