Agree 100 percent, but to me the initial answer to your question is “Yes, he really is that dumb”. My assumption though, is that he’s not the criminal mastermind behind all this, just another “Useful Idiot” who’s in way over his head…
The question therefore should be, “who’s pulling the strings, and do they have a plan to get them all out of this?” Evidence suggests “Vlad Putin” and “NO, he doesn’t give a shit, since the chaos this is causing is actually what he wanted all along”.
I’m with you on the indictments - Friday would be nice (tomorrow would be even nicer, at some point I need to get back to work…)

My money is on Mueller. He surely knew all along that Manafort was likely to be untrustworthy, and tested him. Apparently, Manafort failed that test. Manafort and Trump and their ilk all think that they are so very clever. They never know what to do when then find themselves confronted by someone who really is intelligent (and honorable).

Well, I think he still has to be in some contact with reality to have an effective strategy.
Don’t think that he really is.
Genuinely think he didn’t believe Republicans were going to lose the House in the midterms.
And he is still deluding himself every step of the way on this.

Manafort lied abut something big. It probably is the story just released TODAY that Manfort met with wikileaks. It is NOT a coincidence that this story comes out about wikileaks, Manafort is charged with lying and that Trump just turned in his answers to Muellers questions. Mueller probably already knows that Manafort mwet with wikileaks and told Trump about it. Now Mueller gets BOTH of them for lying to the FBI and obstructing justice.
