Discussion: Lynch Admits Meeting With Bill Clinton 'Cast A Shadow' Over Emails Probe

What unmitigated horseshit.

Lynch flopping around, however, smacks of the typical “cringing Dem” stance taken by damned near all Democrats most of the time.

The GOTPer would go with “Nothing inappropriate happened, STFU and investigate a Democrat.” Meanwhile, the Democrat apologizes.

She’s on the way out by January anyways and Bill will get a good spanking from Hillary.

As that’s what old fart male conservatives like to think about, why not give them a real thrill? Republicans aren’t going to get one at their convention. Newt or Christie as the VP? What’s wrong with Palin again or Lyin’ Ted? It would appear that Trump has sold out to the Establishment.

She should have said the sex was good but she didn’t care for his politics.

Cause the appearance of a scandal brings in good ratings…one has to wonder is this so called news reporting is just to entertain folks. Instead of reporting things that are important to people lives

I would love for once when one of these “non-scandals” happens that the Democratic Party as a whole’s response would be “(shrug) whatever…” And watch the whole Right Wing and the MSM’s heads explode as the Democratic Party for once doesn’t play their game.

What appearances of impropriety? Bill Clinton is a private citizen, so any “power” he may have, real or imagined, isn’t going to sway Ms. Lynch unless you already do not trust Ms. Lynch and feel she’s not a legitimate AG, in which case, nothing Bill or she could have done, or not done, would have changed the narrative. The mere fact they were at the same airport the same day would have given the right wing their 4 hour erection and like the lickspittles they are, the NYT, AP and every other media outlet lined up to repeat the “Clinton talking points of the day”. This is a non-story, every aspect of it is a non-story and there is no impropriety, apparent or not.

This isn’t an unforced error, it’s another unforced round of CDS.

Everything isn’t political or some deep nefarious scheme or plot. The Clintons are people and they have friends and acquaintances, like we do.
Yes, they are way more well known but don’t hold the fact that their political enemies always try to make something out of nothing against them.

Screw the right and all of their hateful ways. I’m siding with the Clintons for all kinds of reasons but one is, just because I won’t ever give the conspiracy theorists and followers of that horseshit the sweat off of my behind.

Keep dreaming.

At best at some point in the far future there will be a Sternly Worded Letter™ long after everyone has forgotten it.

First, Bill Clinton needs a minder, someone to tell him DON’T DO THAT! He is very entitled in some ways. Second, Dems are so damn apologetic and nice and honest. Lynch could have met with a Clinton secretly anyway, but the GOP jumped all over this and she, instead of just saying, “Nothing inappropriate happened,” apologizes. Should she have? Will this add fuel to the CT buffs at the GOP? Would a crisp “Don’t be ridiculous” denial have worked better?

Finally, Hillary must be really pissed at Bill. He just can’t stay out of her way, can he. NOT HELPING, Bill. Keep EVERYTHING zipped.

The unforced error isn’t the “meeting” between Clinton and Lynch. The unforced error is the reflexively ducking and covering.

My fondest dream is a world in which Democrats give as little of a shit about their non-scandals as Republicans give about their actual scandals

Yes, why act like this was a big deal. It wasn’t, it isn’t. Don’t tell the GOP that there’s probably fire when there’s not even smoke.

But we all know how this thing is played one set of rules for dems and another set for the gop

we share just as much blame for it because we play by the rules the Republicans set for us.

Do you have your tinfoil cap on today?

Yeah… It’s true that it was “bad optics” and boneheaded of Clinton to put Lynch in that position. But it’s also true that there are plenty of less conspicuous ways to talk to Lynch about the case if he’d wanted to, so this is a pretty stupid thing for the media to let the GOP turn into a scandal (though typical of them wrt the Clintons).

The right is expert at shaming the media into dropping coverage of genuine wrongdoing simply by aggressively denying the wrongdoing and ridiculing the coverage; yet Dems can’t take the lesson when there’s clearly no actual wrongdoing. In a way it’s to our credit, being fundamentally earnest types, while the modern GOP’s prime directive is simply winning, as ruthlessly as necessary. But it’s long past time for us to change our default setting from defense to offense – especially given the stakes in this election.

Why jump everytime they say scandal when there isn’t one?

If a deal was being made it would have been done on Hillary’s personal server according to Republicans, right?
