Discussion: Lynch Admits Meeting With Bill Clinton 'Cast A Shadow' Over Emails Probe

Meh. If Lynch and Bill were on the tarmac, and didn’t meet, Fox News would be blaring “IS THERE A RIFT BETWEEN CLINTON AND THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT?” and Mark “Auditioning to be Trump’s press secretary” Halperin would be tweeting furiously about that, instead of this.

Why is it that everything Bill does becomes Hillary’s fault? He made a bad policy call in the 90’s – it her fault. He fucked other women – its her fault. He puts his foot in his mouth for the umpteenth time – always her fault. Now he goes and speaks to Lynch without any consciousness of the optics (because there was no intention to deceive) — but now that is her fault too. They are two individuals and he is her ball and chain. If he can’t control himself, then he needs to retire completely – or be given a job that has no political ramifications whatsoever. I hear the White House residence will need new drapes.

I walked across a parking lot in Phoenix just 3+ weeks past, and all I could think of was: “Is the surface of the sun any hotter than this?” and “I’m glad to be going back to the northern Rockies and out of Phoenix.”

Oh…and nothing screams “SCANDAL!!! PHOENIZGHAZEEEEEEEEEEEEEE’!” more than meeting in broad daylight where you can be seen by fu*king everyone. Looks like there’s nothing the Right Wingnuttery won’t clutch their pearls about … oh, except Trump’s taxes!
Pre IN-peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeach! Ken Starr needs a new job!!!

This is the Clinton hubris that invariably gets them in trouble.
Bill is the main guilty party, but, Hilary is not impervious to it.

Except it was boneheaded. They could have just met on the tarmac and left it at that. Private meetings allowed the wingnuts to advance a new line of attack, to no good end…Totally self-inflicted, that has the effect of harming Hillary, more than it obviously harms himself. It was selfish and at best, thoughtless.

Its gives the other side a reason to call foul, perhaps akin to an ex parte communication when a judge is approached in their chambers regarding a case under consideration by an interested party. It doesn’t play well if all you can do is deny something you can’t prove. I know its bullshit. You know its bullshit. But its politics…not beanbag. Loretta Lynch has a stellar reputation and yet…Bill stepped in it…and for no good reason other than to talk about grandkids?

First thing I thought of, and that’s still my question to anyone who thinks this is anything other than a “made for TV” Shark Week scandal. Bill has any number of ways to talk to Lynch that would not, say, show up on her office call log, if he really wanted to influence her.

Having said that, given Bill and Hill’s propensity to score these “own goals” I hope she hires a WH chief of staff who knows how to run an extremely tight ship. If I were being asked to be Hillary’s VP pick, I would insist on having some input into that selection and making sure she gets the right person.

Buen mensaje.

Lamentablemente, la gente norteamericana no tienen suficiente experiencia con dictadores. No se dan cuenta el peligro que nos amenaza con Trump.

La “prensa” tiene la misma ignorancia

This is a terribly written article. She did NOT say she would accept the recommendations of “career agents” in the DOJ. Lynch said she would “likely accept” the recommendations of career prosecutors.

The way it goes, the FBI conducts their investigation and submits their findings to the DOJ. Career prosecutors in the DOJ review the FBI report and makes recommendations as to how to proceed. As the Attorney General, Lynch can accept those recommendations or reject them. Again, she indicated she will likely accept them.

That is standard procedure. Also, she said basically the same thing months ago during an interview on Meet the Press. Media is bungling their coverage of this “scamdal”, as usual.

When young Baron Trump heard about the Clinton / Lynch meeting…well, he was appalled!
"PaPa…PaPa! Have you heard?"

The problem with fake scandals is that they numb you to the real ones.

I wish I could like this a hundred times, and add that everything Bill does is somehow Hillary’s fault.

No thanks, there would be the inevitable congressional affair rumors, with someone in that building.

Sadly, the meeting was not in plain view. It was on Lynch’s plane, out of sight of everyone but the participants and, perhaps, close aides.

I haven’t read anywhere that Clinton pounced on Lynch, so if you have something that shows Lynch was ambushed, please post it.

This is how a conspiracy works: FBI makes criminal referral, AG fires investigator or if not, POTUS fires Attorney General and anybody else who won’t fire investigator…by gawwd’. _______ OR… You take TOW missiles, see, and sell them to an enemy nation, take the money you made and then give it to another enemy that you legal can’t give money to. Also throw in a key cake also/too!

Jason Chaffetz (R-Teahadist’ Publicity Whore) to call for hearings in 3…2…

So basically, what we have here is yet another fake scandal which turns on whether or not the FBI will be allowed to, as its leadership has intimated it might seek to, turn another fake scandal into a legal and political weapon with which to derail the Hillary train and appoint their boy The Donald president.
