…the investigation was being handled by “career agents”
Let’s just hope those “career agents” aren’t holdovers that were allowed to burrow into the DoJ by the Bushies when they decided to decimate various sections within DoJ to skew or cripple work underway by pursuing a hidden partisan agenda, running afoul of the good practices. I hope President Obama was able to purge all those assholes and didn’t miss any when he came into office. But chances are, his administration wasn’t able to get them all. I know it took this administration awhile to get around to finding some of those “career agents” that were really “political” operators within DoJ and let them go…Still some probably remain. So the term “career agents” doesn’t necessarily bring me comfort at face value.
Bill has always thrown caution to the wind. He acts before thinking. Hillary will be a far better president because she doesn’t.
Lynch was ambushed by Clinton and didn’t have time to consider that it might be considered inappropriate.
Would someone please tell Clinton to run for Congress so he can be involved again? John Quincy Adams did. It would give him something to do that he loves and channel his energies in a way that could be productive instead of causing controversy. Retired men need to do more than travel around and go vegan for their health.
Maybe he can be put in charge of keeping the vegetable garden going that Michelle Obama put in place. That would keep him busy and kill two birds with one stone.
You KNOW that once a finding is made (and from what I have read, a large number of legal analysts deem it highly unlikely that there will be charges against Hillary) the leaks from FBI agents who hate the Democrats/Clintons/libtards/etc. are going to flow like GatorAde at an SEC track meet.
There is a LOT of conservative politics in the ranks of policemen, FBI agents and CIA personnel…most of it rooted back to military service as well. Mike Mullen on CBS the other morning allowed as how on the “track of who would better manage national security issues, Hillary was (in his words) perhaps better qualified than Obama,” but Mullen kept stressing that it was only on “this track,” and added that he had big worries about who Clinton would appoint to the Supreme Court (don’t want any of those folks who worry about rights to privacy now do we.)
Just imagine the side-eye Hil gave him the next time they were face-to-face. Yikes. I think most of us who have been married for any considerable time know and fear those moments…
Earth to Bill Clinton: “Try thinking first.” This action was foolish and made everyone look bad, especially Attorney General Lynch and Secretary Clinton. I repeat: FOOLISH!
Update: And for those who think mine is an overreaction, I suggest that they read this article, especially the candid quotes from the Attorney General herself. I believe her.
Didn’t I read once where this guy Clinton was The Great Master Politician of Our Time? Because this has to rate as one of the most dunderheaded, shoot yourself in the foot moves since, I dunno–who was that guy who got strung up for lying about getting a BJ in the Oval Office? He must be at least as dumb as that guy.
It’s hard to get your head around this. 25 years of mostly fake controversy makes the intellectually challenged and dishonest media keep an extra close eye on the Clintons in the first place. After all, they play by their own rules in a Machiavellian web of dishonesty corruption and terrible, terrible things. Terrible things. Terrible. So, Bill Clinton wisely or not uses an opportunity to say hi to an old acquaintance. The acquaintance is the Attorney General of the United States. Now Bill Clinton’s wife is caught up in a controversy about emails because she had her own server, which was in a closet, in a bathroom in a ma and pa operation in Colorado. Terrible. The controversy itself is a spinoff of Benghazi, as the Jefferson’s was a spinoff of All In the Family, except both of these were far more successful than Benghazi, which is more like Cruise Control as a sequel to Speed. So, all anybody in the media can talk about is a largely fabricated controversy overlaid on the controversial couple, the Clintons, whose controversial life and times are almost entirely a figment of their political enemy’s imaginations. Meanwhile, Donald Trump is breaking FEC laws, lying about forgiving 50MM loans to his campaigns, and announcing a “short list” of gangsters and serial adulterers, grifters and extremists for his veep picks. This really hurts my head.
This is where I really get annoyed with my fellow democrats and will say we lack back bone.
A nothing happened and we’re running around buying into the republican led narrative of “this is terrible optics” when the narrative we should be pushing “I appear to be all out of fucks to give about this… Sorry/not sorry”
But no, we’re busy calling it boneheaded, saying we should lock people in closets, and weeping into our beers , and winceing like we’re being bludgeoned by a mace when in reality it’s a nerf bat… And not even a very big one.
Grow some spine, say “I don’t give a shit” and get back to watching the Republicans tie themselves in knots trying to win an election while dragging the anchor of their own damn candidate who actually is making BIG gaffes and blunders and handing us attack ads.
But hey, what do I know, surely the way to win is to do the opposition’s work for them and excoriate our candidate for a total non-story.
It’s this kind of pseudo-panicking that always makes Dems start to pee in every direction, especially because it feeds the idea that EVERYTHING someone named “Clinton” does is sinister, nefarious, Priory of Sion stuff.
Here’s the alternate headline from Earth 2: “Clinton Snubs Lynch at Airport.”
Here’s the Media Glitterati: “Those Clintons! They think they’re above everyone, including the law!”
This is how it goes.
Just stop.
(*This isn’t meant directly at you, but “you” in general.)
Exactly, we like to blame Fox News and the like, but we repeat it and lament “oh how will we ever fight their control of the narrative when we have candidates who have to fight these stories we constantly repeat!!!”
