Discussion: Kimmel Skewers Double Standards Applied To Clinton, 'Mansplains' To Her (VIDEO)

Come on now. That’s not what you’re doing and you know it. You came here looking for a fight and found one. Someone trying to actually de-escalate a situation doesn’t scold. Ask yourself: why did you choose to respond to the person who said something critical of your candidate and gave the crazy person who made the off-topic, spamming comment about the candidate you don’t like a pass? Someone who is really looking for unity will call out their own, not just criticize the people who don’t agree with them. You really want to de-escalate, then stop with the passive aggressive nonsense.

So… the other candidate is not democratic? I wish you’d listen to yourself sometimes before you tell people what to do.

Arizona did not get stolen. The long lines and scarcity of polling places were the result of lack of foresight, incompetence and pennywise- pound foolish planning. Besides, if the Sanders supporters are as enthusiastic and fired up as many of them would have us believe, then it’s more likely that Hillary voters, being unenthusiastic and holding our noses, would be the ones to give up and walk away upon seeing long lines. It breaks both ways. One could also theorize that Hillary would have won by a higher percentage if voting had been easier.

And yes, for some, but not all, Sanders supporters, it is a personality cult. I like Hillary, but a personality cult around Hillary; let’s face it, charisma is not her her strong point; please!

That’s one of the better points I’ve seen in a while. Is Moms Demand Action the same as the NRA since they’re both lobbyists? What about AARP? Is it okay to take money from Emily’s List? Who is the arbiter of these things? What about corporations that do a lot of good? Is Costco okay? What about Ben and Jerry’s? Also, since accepting money from anyone who works in the financial industry is “taking money from Wall Street”, where does it end? This seems to be becoming a bigger and bigger witch hunt that borders on becoming the liberal version of McCarthyism.

The reduction in polling places was done by the GOP funding restrictions in the state and well before there was knowledge of what the Democratic primary would look like. Long time Democrats suddenly finding themselves listed as independents would probably tell against Clinton – there’re her crowd. The state definitely guilty of voter suppression but as far as I know it would hit both Democratic sides equally. What evidence,if any,are they adducing to,argue that it was intended to hurt Bernie particularly?

That wasn’t at all what I meant and I’m assuming you’re just being typically willfully ignorant. But to answer your question, no. Bernie Sanders is not a Democrat, so he isn’t Democratic.

Plus, the result was mostly in line with the (albeit sparse) polls. So unless they stole it in a way just to replicate the polls most exactly…

Conspiracy theories, not bounded by the reality, can go as far as they want and die hard. That’s why they are dangerous.

Re: the word capitalization issue.
It would be really helpful if all comments sections on websites would allow the commenters to use italics and boldface. Idiots, like the majority of posters on RedState and NewsMax, would still use capitals AS THOUGH THEY WERE YODELING IN THE ALPS BECAUSE, YOU KNOW, OBAMMER! But people with some intelligence, like the people on this site (yes, I am both an ass-kisser and a paragon of modesty!) would use those tools to get their point across without online shouting.
And I thought the Kimmel/Clinton clip was great. And I also don’t seem to recall any of our wonderful penis-led media criticizing the Wasilla Wailer for her shrill screeching during the 2008 campaign when she was calling Obama a terrorist who was going to dig up the bones of Washington and Jefferson and Lincoln and use them to build a throne to give to Osama bin-Laden. Funny how that works, ain’t it?

Don’t be a sheeple. Turn off the alphabet-soup ABCNBCCNN networks and do some real research, man.

Don’t you know that GMO unicorns are part of mind-control experiments the CIA – bankrolled by the neocons, military industrial complex, banksters and their neoliberal Zionist overlords – has been conducting since the 1950s?

It’s a Trojan horse and a false flag, man! First they have you nibbling on your “free range unicorn and some Blues Pig bbq sauce” and next thing you know, they’re ramming the whole salami down your throat!1!!1

{pant, pant} It’s the system, man.

That Sanders didn’t win seems to be the only evidence they need in order to prove that the election was stolen from Sanders.

Last we heard Bernie was a Democratic Socialist and only joined the Democratic Party recently when he decided that the party apparatus assembled by other people’s hard work could be useful to him. Ignoring this does not make the underlying situation go away.

Somebody needs to explain to me why the Bernie supporters interpret political argumentation as an illegitimate attempt to tell them what to do and then think it will be persuasive to complain about it when they are in the very act of telling the person they are complaining about to do something else.

Agree, and it also ignores the fact that allowing citizens to petition their elected officials is enshrined in the First Amendment.

Sorry, but people looking for charisma aren’t going to find it this go-round. In fact, looking back at some of our male presidents, very few were what I’d call charismatic.

Why are you taking such a simple idea (no money in politics) and twisting it into some kind of pretzel? The reason you run into a dilemma is because you’ve made an assumption that lobbying is the only mechanism for companies to accomplish their agenda. Who said that’s the only way? Corporations and individuals can spend money on causes without getting into politics, which happens all the time. The Bill and Melinda Gates foundation for one. I don’t see Bill lobbying politicians. Costco could set up their own foundation too.
Now do I think that we can actually get rid of all lobbying any time soon, particularly in the next election cycle? No way. But why wouldn’t that be a worthy goal for the future?
This is a perfect example of your “safe incrementalism”. The inability to think beyond the status quo.

So, capital letters do serve a function?

Agree, also, some Sanders supporters who are not registered Democrats were turned away from the polls since Arizona is a closed primary. That might be fueling some of the paranoid CT about a stolen election.

No one was being ignorant. I just love how Clinton supporters ridicule progressives for saying they are hung up on purity tests, while at the same time relegating their opponents to second class status in the party. It’s hypocrisy, plain and simple.

What we’ve seen thus far is but a mild preview of the disrespect she will endure as POTUS. Think about the visceral racially animated contempt the right has displayed towards Obama. It will be just like that except the sexism won’t only come from Trump and the right. We already see it lobbed at her on a regular basis by our fellow progressives – but they frame it as moral outrage. Its a projection – as though she is singularly the most evil human being to have ever walked the earth. The anger directed towards her is so self-righteous and disproportionate to the real or imagined transgressions, that nothing explains it except primitive sexism. And when you point it out, they feel so offended.
There will be no reasoning with such unconsciousness. Let 'em go – and let them stew. We will win this without them.

Well, this site has allowed bold and italics for quite some time, and even advises using them when the ‘reply’ button is pressed. Further, a slightly curious writer might see the line including ‘B’ and ‘I’ above the typing area and see what happens.

More importantly, purveyors of the Random Word Capitalization Theory of Winning Arguments really do capitalize random WORDS (or segMENTs thereof), which would not be improved by bolding or italicizing them. It is like they don’t have an inner voice speaking what they are typing and feel that their pinkies need to periodically hold down the little shift keys while they type or else their words look too bland and uniform on the page.

So, yeah, maybe Random Word Capitalization habits can be half-way explained by lack of obvious formatting options on lesser sites, but definitely not here.

Mix just a touch of pixie dust into the slaw…its like a slice of Avalon, I tell ya.
