See how it is, see how we are…SOUND bites mean more than policy, We DEMAND new leadership in the DNC.
This has always been in the context of an us / them mentality. We want rules, regulations, control over the constitutive other, why wouldn’t we? No hypocrisy involved. Such are the apples baked into that particular religious pie.
There are many reasons why Americans do not trust “journalists” or what ever Chuck Todd is pretending to be.
Chuck Todd and his ilk are all too prevalent on cable and throughout “the media” whether electronic or print.
Pretend “Journalists”: Simpletons. Making Americans Simple.
But Americans both embrace and reject this, saying they “dont trust the media” and simultaneously goobling it up. No wander our nation is in decline.
Now if Kasich had said, “You need to calm the f down,” that would’ve been tough. His poll numbers probably would’ve jumped.
Judeo-Christian aka what Christians say to pretend they are including jews only because its good for whatever they are trying to sell.
Nope, he likes those folks just fine.
When Kasich shoots off his mouth & says -
“We need to beam messages around the world about what it means to have a Western ethic, to be a part of a Christian-Judeo society,”
Then starts reshaping his message, it is fair game to ask him what he really means -
Ah, poor Chuck. The rare time he tries to practice journalism ( I say practice because he does it so often he is still practicing) and he get told to clam down. Kasich is NEVER going to say that he wanted to create a government agency to teach Judeo-Christian, Western values throughout the world.Even though that is EXACTLY what he said. Kasich is slippery. He has been called a “moderate” in this race. He is by NO means moderate. He is simply more slippery and less clownish as the rest.
Call me crazy but if you originally say it’s about the promotion of Judeo-Christian ethics and then say it is about freedom of religion, those two propositions are contradictory. When I was growing up, someone doing that was characterized as "slippery."
John Kasich, 2015: “I support the death penalty and will continue to do that.”
John Kasich, 2015: “I’m talking about that every life has real meaning.”
Okay, not quite as fun as Bush calling every life “sacred” while snuffing out
far more lives in Texas than any other state…but still fun…
Little Prick-ly.
There goes Chuck Todd, having the audacity to ask a GOP’er about what they said (verbatim).
- Spread Jud-Chr values
- ???
- Profit
You know it!
Chuck Todd of the tortured comb-forward represents NBC’s definition of a seasoned journalist. Surreal f-ing times we’re living in. I keep hoping for signs that the pendulum is swinging back.
my baloney has a 1st name???
The only place evangelicals accept equality between men and women is in their marriage equation: marriage = 1 man + 1 woman
Once married, of course, the math becomes
1 MAN >> 1 woman
For my part, any respect for Chuck Todd as an interviewer, journalist or person of insight vanished long ago.
I haven’t seen the NBC interview where Kasich first proposed the agency, but I’ve read that it’s actually more about spreading democratic ideals than religious ones. If so:
- That federal agency already exists. It’s called the Dept of State
- Kasich has no one to blame but himself for any misunderstanding about the religious connotation
Just add it to the pile of Kasich fails.
No, no this is worse than “some of my friends are black,” but would be the worst is if he said “I had my staff put together a binder full of moderate Muslims to invite.”
