You see, if it were me, I’d have gone immediately to commercial the second he said that to me. You’d find another guest on the air afterwards. But I’m not Chuck Todd, who is clearly a weenie.

IF…on my life…I HAD to vote for a Republican next year…Kaisich is the ONLY one I could even fathom, and what a hard, bitter, agonizing pill that would be to swallow.

And he’s the BEST the GOTP has to offer now. Now THAT, is what’s REALLY scary! Also, he’s basically a RINO to most of the Party, so he has just a tad more chance of being elected POTUS than I do…and I’m not even running!

What a passive-agressive douche. Both of them I might add.

What he meant to say is it’s about the freedom of people to assemble in churches hosting a government-certified religion.

“The equality of women…” as in … Kasich is currently attempting to cut funding for women’s services at PP, not the abortion part, but regular STD testing, etc.

This guy is just another snake in the grass.

No, cutting him off would be unprofessional. A REAL journalist wouldn’t have been sucked in to making it referential about himself; he would have said,

“This isn’t about me. It is about getting to what you said, and what that meant. So let me ask you again…isn’t what you are proposing anti- every religion that isn’t either Christian or Jewish, and doesn’t that go against what our Constitution requires?”

But UpChuck Todd is so narcissistic that he got all defensive and made it about him. In fairness, most of them do that, but it is yet one more example of the poor state of journalism now.

So Kasich too needs to play the racist card. There are no leaders in the GOP. None.

I wonder how many of these assclowns who say “We’re a Judeo-Christian nation!” actually know what the Judeo part means?

But did Todd immediately apologize?

Dear Gov. Kasich,

I have long believed you are the most rational Republican presidential contender out there. That view has only been cemented since I learned about your plan, as president, to launch a new government agency to spread Christian-Judeo values throughout the world. Congratulations, sir! This is exactly what the good planet Earth needs.

I’m so excited about this proposal that I would like to apply for a position in this new agency, which I’ve been brainstorming ideas for all morning. First, as to the title, I suggest the Department of Evangelicalism of Two-thirds of the World’s Abrahamic Religions. That is kind of a tongue-twister, so we shall call it DETWAR for short.

Although the stated purpose of DETWAR should be to further understanding about Christians and Jews, so the bloodthirsty heathens from the other religions won’t kill us, I think we can probably agree that the unstated purpose should be to try to convert them for the purpose of saving their souls. Because let’s face it, unless you’re baptized a Christian and you accept Jesus as your savior, you’re gonna go to hell when you die. Tragically, this already has happened to the great Mohandas Gandhi. It’s difficult to comprehend how he could be roasting weenies with Satan in Hell, rather than having champagne and caviar with Jesus in Heaven. But hey, he was not a Christian.

We owe it to all of the other Hindus, plus the Baha’is, Unitarians, Buddhists, Shintos, the followers of Animism, the Scientologists, and, yes, the Muslims, to make sure that doesn’t happen to them. Once we’ve converted all of them (voluntarily, one can hope) we can turn our attention to the Jews and convert them as well.

And then, the whole world will be Christian, and nobody will kill each other for reasons of faith, unless it’s Christians killing Christians, like what happened in Northern Ireland, the Spanish Inquisition and other periods in Christian-bloodshed history. Of course, that is much more acceptable than Muslims killing Christians.

The best job for me in this agency is Chief of Propaganda, because I’ve studied all of the greats, including Joseph Goebbels, Joe McCarthy and Rush Limbaugh. Here are some slogans we can use to kick things off. (I believe all of them will fit on bumper sticker).

Buddha’s a beast
Hinduism’s the road to hell
Baha’i is a bunch of bull
Sufis are dancing for Satan
Yo mama’s a Muslim murderer
Shintos are full of shit
Scientology sucks
Jesus is just alright with me

Those are just the first crop. I’m thinking up more in every idle moment. With the last one, we might have to pay royalties to the Doobie Brothers, so the new agency will have to include a budget item to cover those.

As you can see, I’m really excited about this new agency, and my new gig. Please let me know anything I can do to help your presidential campaign, so that we can get you elected and make the Department of Evangelicalism of Two-thirds of the World’s Abrahamic Religions (DETWAR) a reality.

Sincerely,

After this story was first posted, I watched Meet The Press on the rerun on MSNBC and it was hardly anything at all. Sure he said it, but it wasn’t a shout like the headline seems to indicate. Reminds me of Huffington Post

The funny thing is that these are the very same people who vigorously cut down American foreign cultural policy. When I grew up there was an “Amerikahaus” in every major German city, providing information on the US, books, movies, lectures. All before the internet. Way before it.

These “Amerikahäuser” were funded by the US government, and yes, they promoted the American version of liberty, democracy, and presumably Judeo-Christian values.

By now they are all gone. Why? Bc Republicans during the 1980s/90s and ever since felt it was a complete waste of money to have these cultural enterprises abroad. Why teach them there foreigners about American values? Why spend a pittance of money on this? Complete waste. Ask then-Sen. Helms about it.

Now I am a professor at an East German university. My expertise is in American politics. The nearest consulate is Leipzig. There are five consulates in Germany. There used to be many more, and every one had a cultural division. The Leipzig Consulate General had its personnal cut down by more than half during the last years. The cultural reachout was done by professionals, now it is done by interns, and the few remaining professionals are working beyond the point of complete exhaustion. I love their effort and determination, and I pity them for the lack of appreciation in the Congress.

Why this cutdown? Bc Republicans like Kasich were arguing that the State Department spent too much money on these activities. The activities reached thousands of people every year, spreading knowledge and good will toward the United States, its constitution, and its, well, Judeo-Christian values.

The hypocrisy, the stupidity, the ignorance are mind boggling. But hey, IOKIYAR forever!!

Maybe Kasich will leave the race soon - but not soon enough. Again attacking the questioner instead of answering the question…very Republican.

Hey Chuckles, it’s not “a little anti-Islam,” it’s a lot anti-American. The fact it blatantly, without question, goes against our Constitution should have been the first clue.

Bravo!

Depends on your style – life has been promoted, including by peace churches and those against the death penalty, by those guided by a form of Christianity and Judaism. Women also – from prostitutes and others being accepted by him etc. – had their equality promoted by a form of both of them. Freedom of conscience is very well a value in both faiths in various respects.
