Nothing weenier than a dork trying to be tough.

it’s about the freedom of religion

My freedom to shove my religion down your throat —

It’s about life, it’s about equality of women, it’s about the freedom of religion. It’s not about going to church

None of the ones in the first sentence come from either Judaism or Christianity. In fact, they’ve always been doctrinally opposed to them. Only the last is a Judeo-Christian value.

I’ve read he’s got a peevish, irritable side and tends to snap at people this way. Or maybe “prickly” is the word I’m looking for.

I have too and apparently it doesn’t take much to incite him.

Fuck it…I can’t stand either one of them. I could care less whether Crazy Kasich made Toady Todd look like the flunky that he is, or Toady Todd made Cuckoo Kashich flare his nostrils like a bull standing in his own shit.

Makes me no nevermind.

And…Chuck Todd allowed Kasich to make this all about Chuck Todd. He should have insisted Kasich address the question and not the messenger.

What John Kasich said was the USA should form a department or agency to promote “Judaeo-Christian values” and he would try to do that. He said the USA should establish a religion contrary to our Constitution prohibiting such things. He said the USA should promote a religion as official policy even though that religion is not held by millions of Americans. What he said was if elected President he would pursue a policy of foisting HIS religion on others. All of that is “fair game” and all of it is UnAmerican.

( The Judaeo Christian thing refers to the religions revering the “God of Abraham”. Islam is also in that set and Kasich’s lame dodge of that fact is sickening. Of course Todd let it go. )

Todd set Kasich up to dodge. And when Kasich took that route Todd allowed him to. Kasich is described by many pundits as a “serious” and “sober” GOP’er. He’s no fucking different that Carson or Trump. That Religious Department crap is right up there with the loony tunes crap Carson says and his attack on a Journo questioning it stinks of Trump.

Chuck Todd.

Kasich To NBC Host: ‘You Need To Calm Down’

Coming from one of the many xenophobic GOPers that’s rich.
Right now on CNN Christie is doubling down on his anti-refugee rhetoric inbigoted terms. Lots of GOPers are rushing to say we have no process in place for checking out people coming here when the truth is each person first has to be vetted by the UN High Commissioner on Refugees and then biomentric data and fingerprints are taken to be checked out by the FBI and interviews and questions posed by our Depts of State, Justice,Defense, AND homeland Security any one of which can say “no” at any time. That’s FAR more vetting than we give people who would have their finger on the nuclear button as President of the United States. Further, has ANY refugee who has gone thru this process committed an act of terrorism? Any? ANY??

Just for the record…the term “Judeo-Christian” means “Christian” in case you want to make a note of it. In Judaism, we do not refer to our religious tradition or history ever in that way. And btw, Kasich went straight for the most offensive way he could to insult Muslims with his Crusader mentality.

C’mon, Chuckie, give the man a break. All he’s arguing for is the same old propaganda you provide, just packaged for a different culture.

Funny, I always want the Toad to be taken down a few notches. But not by Kasich and the topic at hand.

Hot-headed Kasich should have recommended a new Department of World Peace and Understanding (DWPU?) sans any religious implications. But no, it’s gotta be all about imposing his religion on the rest oft he world.

Hey, should he be elected (no way in this universe!) he should start that new religious department’s primary work in Israel. Yeah, save the Jews by making them convert to Christianity immediately.

Wanna bet this would not happen? Just askin’.

Someone posted here the other day ( Wish I could remember who, and they can jump in here and correct me) that actually the “Judeo-Christian” terminology we hear so often just is wrong. It’s actually supposed to be referenced as “Judeo, Christian, Islamic” traditions - all three being the Abrahamic religions.

Look, I’m not anti-Islam. I’m just saying that the idea that “every life has real meaning” is a specifically Western, Judeo-Christian value.

Or, in this case, two dorks showing they’re weenies.

It does when coming from an Christian wing nut. In more informed circles it refers to the Old Testament and the religions that descended from Abraham’s God. Judaism was first ( in the beginning we were all Jews ) then came Christianity when a Jew started it and the Islam. All believe in the God of Abraham but that’s where the similarity stops.

Is it not against basic bedrock republican values to expand government? To create new agencies? You know like … ummmmmmm Homeland Security? And I.C.E? (courtesy of GW Bush)
I once had this mistaken idea that anyone spouting about the need to expand government was anathema among republicans. What republicans stood for resolutely was small government and elimination of those detested “regulations”.
Now republicans want new agencies to spread their Christianist religious propaganda and harsh new refugee elimination regulations
I guess I am wrong. How quickly things change. And not even the slightest recognition of the whiplash involved in their values change.
