Maybe they really mean themselves, when they say “America?”
Clearly, none of them is on the rise in their futile lives…
I see this again and again in Trump supporters here in Kansas, they are full of self-doubt and pity and a profound sense of failure, they are really lamenting their own futility when they speak the Trump slogan.
“Make America Great Again” really means “How on earth did I fail so miserably, there must be someone else to blame”
That certainly applies to these people, especially the wayward twin.
It’s safe to say these guy’s have not been affected by Islam at all. Their lives have never been harmed by it or have the lives of those that know and love. Islam has played no role in harming them. They don’t have experience to draw their feelings from. But they hate Islam. They want to kill it.
Why? Who terrified them. What terrorist did that? Who radicalized them?
“radical butthead terrorists” might work… their creed doesn’t make enough sense to ascribe it to some sort of religious zeal, whatever the label.
We make the same mistake calling “them” Islamic terrorists, when most Muslims consider their own zealots to be buttheads (is there a Farsi word for butthead?) just like most Christians consider these three to be buttheads…
And why don’t we just call ALL of them simply “terrorists” and stop inviting the religious war by tacking on the labels?
So Pence will soon be taking a campaign trip out to the apartment complex to take a bold stance against domestic terrorism as he did in North Carolina’s singed campaign office yesterday? And Trump will tonight announce his plans to cordon off Kansas “until we can figure out what’s going on.”
I thought Trump and the rest of the GOP told us that we can’t beat them if we can’t name them. We have to call them Christian Terrorists, or they win. Don’t ask me for the explanation; I thought that names only had mystical powers in fairy tales and fantasy fiction.
I’ve been waiting for years to hear a peep from a pulpit standing up to the Ayn Rand worshipping Religious Right ever since they came to power in the mid 70s. Not a peep from them.
This is why millions of people have walked out of churches since the rise of the Religious Right and they will never go back.
I’m not sure I understand how slaughtering a bunch of innocent people in Kansas is going to “turn this country around.” Please elaborate.
“[I]f you start using your bow on them cockroaches, make sure you dip them in pig’s blood before you shoot them” Do Muslims perform DNA tests on their dead? Otherwise, how will they ever know that the arrows were dipped in pig’s blood?
“If you’re a Muslim I’m going to enjoy shooting you in the head.” Yes, this is, indeed, the only way to get “those people” to understand that we in America are a peace-loving people who value life beyond measure.
That’s the whole question, isn’t it? None of these politicians going on about saying the words “radical Islamic terrorism” gives a shit about Islam or the motivations of terrorists in the Middle East and beyond. They just know that they can gain and hold power by instilling fear, and if some dumbass yahoos are inspired kill innocent men, women, and children, too fucking bad. There is a price to be paid for their career advancement.
In a week, I’ll be leaving a job where I’ve been leading a really great team of developers, a third of whom are Muslims. We’ve talked quite a bit about the state of American politics, and what started out as funny earlier this year has grown sadder and more depressing. They wonder if they’ll be allowed back into the country and what they will find here if they are. I’m just embarrassed.
What have I seen in the hearts of the Muslims I know? Friendship, a desire to lead a useful life, and an aching love for their children.
One guy is a big fan of the Chicago Bears, but I can forgive him for that.
Apart from the drop-dead absolute EVIL of these guys’ plans…what a bunch of world-class MORONS!
This is a total repeat of that kid who shot up that black church in Charleston, believing somehow his deed would spark a race war.
Did they really believe committing an atrocity of this level was going to “wake up the country” to embark on a domestic jihad AGAINST Muslims?! The ONLY thing it would have accomplished were all the rational people in the US rushing to declare sympathy for and solidarity with the Muslim community and our mutual hatred of these people and their repulsive beliefs - the exact reverse of what they believed it would accomplish.
There are lot of Republicans - and the orange man atop the ticket - who deserve responsibility for our country going in this direction. If only they would all go away as of November 9th…but the wound they’ve inflicted on us has become infected and it’s going to take some serious work on everyone’s part to make the US healthy again…
