Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback (R) praised law enforcement for their investigation, and told Kansas reporters on Monday that “this sort of hate and violence doesn’t have any place in this country, let alone our state.”
But he waffled on questions about whether the alleged plotting was in part motivated by the tenor of the presidential campaign, while defending his own actions to block refugees coming into the state.
“I think the overall discussion in the world has been difficult. There has been lots of problems and lots of sharp words,” Brownback, a Trump supporter, said. He stopped short of blaming any specific American politicians for fanning anti-Muslim sentiment.
“There’s plenty of people that have contributed,” Brownback said.
And this, right here, is one of the Republicans’ problem (as a Party). You’d think they would have learned after their birtherism and claims that Pres. Obama isn’t a Christian and demands for his school records to prove he attended college. They participate and refuse to speak out against the hate and ridiculousness of members of their Party’s rhetoric. Then they wonder how someone like Trump became their nominee.
They didn’t learn then, they still havent taken responsibility. If you all think they will do another autopsy and make changes, you haven’t been paying attention. They see NOTHING wrong, will continue to reach out to the crazies, continue to push fear and hate and things will stay the same.
If Hillary is elected President, we need to stay strong. I think her presidency and the crap she will get put through may be similar to that Pres. Obama endured - or if possible, be even worse.
