Discussion: Greitens' Refusal To Resign Is Dragging Entire Missouri GOP Down

Who does he think he is, Donald Trump?

I dunno. I think heā€™d win. Tribalism is strong in MO, and I guarantee that most of his followers will somehow not notice the paradox between calling Hawley the AntiChrist today and canvassing neighborhoods for Hawley in the fall.

I hope that they secure his guns before the dragging begins.

What I canā€™t fathom is how, every day, Greitens goes home to a wife and two children. I donā€™t understand how he can look them in the face and I especially canā€™t understand how he could be so willing to inflict so much pain on them, basically, to dismiss the gravity of things he has done. Really, there is no other word besides sociopath.

If this were a novel, or a movie, or a serialized TV show, Iā€™d think this is foreshadowing what Trump will do once his resignation or a guilty impeachment verdict become inevitable - i.e., that Traitor Donald will just hang in there, dragging down the GOP (good) and the rest of country (bad) with him.

May the Party that embraces and worships the very soul of Ayn Rand die the same way she did.

Just like the reporters who canā€™t quite bring themselves to say the word ā€œliarā€ about our president, the biggest liar on the planet. No matter how blatant and deliberate the falsehood, they seek refuge in bland synonyms to describe his despicable habitual lying. Why? Who do they think theyā€™re fooling? Do they think itā€™s unprofessional to use a blunt, straightforward, descriptive word?

heā€™d bought up domains like EricGreitensForPresident.com years before he was ever elected to public office.

Per the article.

About this dragging down the MO GOP:

ā€ā€¦Itā€™s not good.ā€

Says who?

I was also thinking ā€œFalse Imprisonmentā€, ā€œBatteryā€, ā€œKidnappingā€, ā€œBlackmailā€, and ā€œExtortionā€.

And fucking bloody rapeā€¦the only word I havenā€™t seen in print on this guy. The others I have.

A couple of points to make here.

The Republican governor admits he had an affair but insists he committed no crime, and that heā€™ll be vindicated in court. (emphasis added)

Iā€™d ask someone to check MO statutes, but Iā€™d be shocked if ā€œfornicationā€ wasnā€™t still a crime. Granted, only rarely prosecuted, but still a crime.

The other point is that, in any/all of the articles Iā€™ve seen on this topic, I have yet to hear one Republicanā€™t voice any support or concern for the (ā€œallegedā€) victim, her family, or well-being. Itā€™s all about how it is affecting them (Republicanā€™ts) politically and/or retaining their hold on power.

Republicanā€™ts are absolutely showing their true colorsā€“complicity w/ anything that adds to their power over the rest of us and the worldā€“and morality, decency, precedent, tradition, previous statements, history, and/or humanity be damned if they interfere. Vote every one of them out.

Finally, after 41 comments someone mentions Senator McCaskill (and in 54 comments just the second time). She has the potential to ride Greitensā€™ scandal into reelection and Hawley can be used as well. Sheā€™s the best part of story, the other two are a sideshow of the worst kind.

Sheā€™s going to go after Hawley for not prosecuting Greitens more aggressively, and when the governor is finally out of way, sheā€™ll go after Hawley in the way she did Todd Legitimate Rape Akin. She promoted the guy she wanted to run against, and it worked.

Good lord

ā€œIt is unfair to attack the attorney general for doing his job,ā€ Harris said, likening Greitensā€™ scandals to a ā€œbunch of weights tied aroundā€ Hawley as he campaigns. ā€œHawley didnā€™t commit these potential crimes. All these things originated in the governorā€™s basement.ā€

Harris is right. And if the situation were reversed and this was a Democratic governor that was accused of the crimes, the Republican opponents would be fair and would not dare mention it nor tie a candidā€¦

LOL!!! Sorry guys! I canā€™t finishā€¦too busy laughing my ass off!

Clare has an ad about her help of a soldier who was a test victim of mustard gas. She is allowing the Republican to ā€œeat their ownā€ with no help from her.

Lowering taxes and improving education are mutually exclusive.

How about, uh, impeaching the sociopaths and narcissists when they are sex offenders, could that work?
