Powell confirmed to TPM in an email that she is representing Flynn. Her hiring was first reported by Hill.tv.

Hill.tv is run by John Solomon, perpetuator of right-wing conspiracy theories, keep that in mind any time you see The Hill as a source for any news. Not that this report isn’t true, just pointing out the path from swamp creature to swamp creature.

I do believe that your point is the only reasonable presumption we can make. I expect this pardon to happen forthwith.

Now, what will make this a pass-the-popcorn event is finding the “smoking gun” of evidence that shows the “collusion”, sometimes called a deal, between Flying Flynn and Donnie two scoops.

Why do I think this will all result in nothing? Flynn doesn’t go to jail, he doesn’t cooperate with the Feds, in fact, I can see him leaving the country and not paying any price for his misdeeds.

Maybe I am unduly pessimistic, but he’s still out there, though supposedly guilty.

I think we’re all assuming that to be true. But consider…

While Flynn has “cooperated” with Mueller, he never “turned on” Trump the way that Cohen did.

as DIA, Flynn knew the extent of, and the limits of, the intelligence community’s capacities. This means he could confirm all sorts of stuff the IC already knew, thereby making him look more credible and cooperative.

it also means he knows what he can hold back – what the IC probably doesn’t know.

IMO, Flynn might have something on Trump. It would certainly explain why Trump tried so hard to protect Flynn from Comey…

Only half way through the thread so may not have seen this idea, apologies if it’s already been posted but my theory on all this is that Donnie’s coven are trying to establish the framing that “It’s all fake, they’ve framed every good, Christian person who tried to help Donnie!” It’s horse patooties, but since when has they ever stopped them?

So, in this Alt-Universe, you pick those who might play along and push the narrative that Mike Flynn was bullied into confessing, Paul Manafort was hounded until the poor guy had no choice, etc. Note that this has nothing to do with actual guilt or innocence, it’s all about grabbing some headlines and establishing the narrative so folks can relax and stay in the bubble for a few more days.

If I’m correct, I wouldn’t be surprised to see pardons as the next phase, although would they really be so stupid as to issue them before the election? “Stay with us, the answer after the break!”

Everything Flynn has “cooperated” with the prosecution on has been transmitted directly to Trump’s lawyers.

By hiring a bat-shit-insane Grifter as a Lawyer, he is signalling to the White House that he is “available” to play the lead role in discounting, disparaging, and claiming he was coerced into EVERYTHING he told the Prosecution, in return for a FULL PARDON of course (and a small cut of the profits via a job at FOX News as a pundit and a couple right-wing-nut-job book deals about what a MARTYR FOR CHRISTIANITY he is.)

A slimy grifter to the very end.

the problem for Flynn is that if he says this stuff after his pardon, he becomes criminally liable again, because he has to swear that he was not coerced into his confession, and that he was guilty of the crimes he pled to. In other words, he will be liable for perjury any time he says he was coerced.

Won’t he be a slam-dunk for perjury only if he testifies he was coerced? If he just goes around saying it, sure you can claim his allocution was perjured, but who is going to prosecute that?
