Discussion: Flynn Hires A Mueller-Bashing Fox News Personality As His New Lawyer

People of color, like these guys, excepted of course.

Yeah it’s not Flynn’s crazy that I question - him I get. It’s the idea that Trump would pardon him now for nothing that I don’t get. Trump does nothing for nothing.

I’ve missed enough things to always consider the possibility I’m missing something, but there’s that, and there’s also the fact that as much as he likes to dangle them, Trump hasn’t actually pardoned anyone in his own world where it could look like he’s buying their silence. Maybe with Barr in place that’ll change. Maybe not.

Flynn likes loons like himself. That’s been a pretty consistent theme in his life.

my guess is that Flynn is doing nothing for the DoJ anymore – but that Barr will tell the judge that Flynn’s cooperation is still needed, which means that Flynn does not get sentenced, and stays out of jail for the time being.

And I think that Sullivan is going to demand that the DoJ provide proof that Flynn needs to be free to cooperate – the judge could put Flynn in jail for a specified time, but that any lack of cooperation would extend his sentence…

To be sure, I think it’s a very dumb strategy on Flynn’s part. On the other hand, “Donald, you shouldn’t do that, it offers you nothing” seems to be a powerful motivator for Donald to do exactly that. So I dunno, there are layers and layers of dumb here. Which dumb wins out?

Then again, Trump also does nothing for something. He has to conserve his something since one is only allocated so much something from birth and it can quickly be dissipated through frivolous use.

That’s always a tough question for those of us outside the dumbosphere.

Barr was AG while the Iran Contra investigations were, um, concluded. The six pardons were all issued between the 1992 election and 1993 inauguration.

Yeah but Trump isn’t going to do anything out of loyalty or the goodness of his heart and I doubt he gives one shit about Flynn.

But I know what you’re saying.

Maybe it’s just me, but this endless procession of demented dipshits defending tawdry slimeballs is beginning to make me dizzy.

Hope the predictions of Judge Sullivan ‘throwing the book’ at Flynn AND his Qanon mouthpiece prove prescient.

Counter-argument: you can explain who has received a Trump pardon almost exclusively by answering the question “would this pardon make deplorables hoot and clap at Trump at a Trump rally?”

The answer to this question with Flynn, like with Arpaio, is emphatically yes. Nobody gives a shit about Paul Manafort or whatever.

agree with everything except for the tad bit sorry part,

Omg I went on a short walk with the dog when tRump came on the TV and the asshole was still on my TV rambling away when I returned. I guess he needs some maximal diversions and distracting news headlines right about now with all the piles of scandals and bad news about him and his criminal maladministration beginning to reach its apex. Blubber away, tubbie.

It may depend on how motivated Flynn is into blackmailing his corpulency. Flynn knows stuff and he knows what folks have done. I’m betting he’s keeping some information close to his chest “for a rainy day”. “Pardon me, or else I spill the rest.”

There is no remaining doubt that Flynn is a sociopath.

Obama fired him because of that.

The Conman hired him because of that.

It’s almost like we’re turning into the Soviet Union. Fox News was a cancer we thought was a rash,

That’s what I don’t understand. The judge was set to throw the book at him because he believed Flynn was getting off entirely too easy. Flynn went back to the drawing board to further cooperate or face stiffer punishment, so he thinks the answer is to then return to that judge even more defiant? This makes no sense.

There’s not much book to throw when the defendant is charged with only a single count, of lying to a federal investigator, I believe.

I presume Flynn still has the goods on Trump and hasn’t fully cooperated… Maybe the investigators didn’t ask the right questions.

Unless you are totally looking for a pardon.
