These are all nicely sounding buzzwords. In reality, you advocating using currently established principles to judge peoples behavior from the past. Also, creates conditions when an unsubstantiated accusation is sufficient to undermine person’s reputation and destroy professional life.

Ummmm, no I don’t. I know what I said. Let’s not flog a dead horse here. I don’t think we should act like a mob, and as some commented upthread, in a perfect world we would look at the whole picture, but in today’s hyperatmospherics that is not going to happen evidently. .

Um, stupid definitely, racist yes. At best it is racist as in clueless, sheltered, racially insensitive white guy who hung out with other clueless, racist, white guys like the ones in Kavanaugh’s yearbook.
I am all for Northam resigning but I have a problem with the demands for him to do so right after the photo was brought to light. Doing so is not nearly as virtuous as some seem to think and it sure backs the Democrats into a corner.
Shouldn’t the same politicians demanding Northam resign also be demanding Fairfax to resign? Is keeping a known sexual harasser on staff an offense demanding resignation? If so, a certain frontrunner in the 2020 presidential race needs to drop out now.
