Discussion: Dems Post List Of GOP O'Care Provisions Said To Break Senate Rules

Time to whip out an obit for right wing dysfunction.

As crazy as that sounds, crazy is the, albeit hopefully short-lived, new.

Jared is in deep, deep shit and may cause all calculations to be rethought if his security credential is withdrawn and/or he is removed from the west wing, which likely also affects the Ivankling’s status.

This isn’t policy we are talking about, its revenge politics and sheer pettiness at the highest levels. All motivations can switch on a dime.

This is irrefutable fact, not just some silliness that tends to happen between opposing Party’s.

And Trumpty hasn’t yet begun to hit bottom or fill his sinking ship with fellow travelers.

He will set the bar to a place that means that there no longer even is a bar.

Yes, they have run the table – they control Congress and the White House – and they are like a kid in a candy shop.

they are like a kid in a candy shop.
[/quote]An apt comparison Randy because adults don’t act like this, especially adults that are supposedly leaders and charged with such important responsibilities.

Its truly embarrassing that we even have to fight some of these fights because they are so preposterous.

Our room for improvement has grown exponentially.

For some reason I imagine that isn’t going over really well right now. It’s a little early for her to be kicking him to the curb, in my opinion I don’t think he’s coming back but he is John McCain and he’s been in Congress forever and I would think they would prefer to pretend that he is coming back right now because a lot of them care about him.

Yes, it seems tone-deaf, insensitive and opportunistic.

“…a deviant crime all on its own…”

indeed, we forget, or miss, or ignore cannot foresee just what monstrous cruelties a bill like this can wreak upon millions of people, Denying medical care for children and the disabled is unconscionable.
Leaves me fumbling for words.

This woman has laid out the outline of that plan very nicely…

Hitler and Nazi comparisons abound.
They are more believable as copycat crimes because trumpp couldn’t think something like that through if his bank account depended on it.

Hitler wouldn’t drag down his own family and wealth nor the object of his lust with his insidious plans though. This fact makes Donnie’s seizure much more difficult.

How about undoable or beyond the pale.

Though they try despite the unconscionability, they haven’t really had any success.
That means that at least a few understand.

Perfect for me. They talk shit all the time. I don’t see any legislation and I don’t know that anyone in the GOP knows how to draft legislation.

I disagree that passage is now more likely. We know the senators who have come out against a straight repeal and delay and we know the senators who are against repeal and replace. Just because we don’t know which version will be presented, how does that make passage closer?

Interesting how so many at this much needed free health clinic blame both sides in DC for their lack of healthcare. The influence of right wing radio down in the hollows has to be the explanation for it. Good on McCauliffe for being there every year and doing what he can to break through that false equivalency by pointing out it is the Republican controlled lege in Virginia that is responsible. Gotta crack that right wing media bubble of disinformation if the sickness in America’s soul is to ever heal.

It matters not that they know how when they won’t, ever.
There is nothing ‘bi-partisan’ left in them, especially as a group. One Senator wanting to get things done or work as their job was intended has zero chance of over-riding the Party religion of obstruct and block.

Even the pathetic one-sided, aimed at the rich, legislation that they do produce has poorly hidden and poisonous pills buried within.
They don’t settle for just being rabidly partisan, they have to go for the whole enchilada too of doing harm and rigging the game so they can do more without resistance.

Well, thanks for calling it to my attention that. I misspoke, and I did NOT mean that the healthcare bill would pass. I’ve been saying it wouldn’t for a while and haven’t changed.
What I meant was that as noted often here the entire purpose of the bill(aside from undoing President Obama’s great achievement)was to get money for a fat-cat tax cut. They still need to deliver the tax cut. But when their hopes are dashed for getting the Medicaid money, they can give the fat cats a smaller cut and ignore the deficit implications. This non-healthcare related cut is what I predict. They’ll find a way of strongarming or bribing the Freedumb boys.

Everybody’s free to agree or disagree with that. But that’s what I meant.
I simply must be sure to have my coffee before I start reading TPM.

Senate Republicans also have the option of overruling the parliamentarian, but that comes at a risk of gutting a Senate norm in a way that may come back to haunt them when Democrats are back in power.

If Senate Republicans were actually worried about the possibility of Democrats regaining power, they wouldn’t be trying to ram this bill through in the first place. Between voter suppression, Russian social media trolling, and Democrats fighting each other in purity wars, they figure they’ve already got 2018 locked up.
