It’s hard to feel pity for him. Did he honest to God think he could separate his professional life from his personal? Screw the public and then go home to the wife and kids with no repercussions? Screw with OTHER peoples lives and just walk away?

If this were a proper conversation, we could talk about the impact the justice system has on all defendants. We could talk about having to come up with bail/bond monies and how most accused can’t even do it, or when they do they have to pay exorbitant fees. Mr. Cohen is still walking free (and smoking cigars). When most accused find themselves without bail, they promptly get fired from any employment they have and suddenly have no money (even if it would be enough) for an attorney. The attorneys they can get are usually public defenders that don’t have time for fun little conversations with a judge about appointing special masters or being able to ‘selectively eliminate’ items seized in a search.
Yet I’m sure the honorable Mr. Cohen doesn’t want to talk about that…he’s only concerned his family (who doesn’t yet have to visit him from behind plate glass with a guard) feels bad. I wish we were even at a level that actually was the biggest problem facing the accused. Lucky for Mr. Cohen he has (presumably, although from reports maybe not) some assets to hire attorneys, to pay the bills, and a client of his that means everything that comes near Mr. Cohen gets 100 eyes to make sure everything is on the straight and narrow.

Way back when we were students I remember having dinner with my brother and a bunch of his friends. The conversation turned to one of their law school classmates, apparently a huge asshole who lived in a luxurious apartment in some ritzy tower not far from the school.

Dancing to the music and paying the piper. I am about as sorry for you, Cohen, as I am for Manafort. I just hope that Roger Stone gets his just rewards - along with Trump and family of course.

Nah, Rudy’s Trump’s ‘lead attorney’ (along with megachurch attorney grifter Jay suck-on-this Sekulow). Rudy not going anywhere as long as he doesn’t say anything, go on TV, call anyone, or try and leave his room. Has that Martha Mitchell excitement about it.
Just heard BTW, Pruitt’s negotiating his resignation - but will only do so if he can take his special telephone - and booth - with him. In fact, word has it he’s negotiating from inside the booth, locking himself in, refusing to leave till all his demands are met. ‘Going live’ …

Pruitt should be locked in that cone of silence and left there. I think the whole deal was so he could hunker down with his fling and the wife couldn’t get the goods on him. But as they say… he stepped on his dick with a hobnail boot.
