This was an overly sympathetic portrait of a career criminal. That said, it did lead to a common conclusion: Trump is out for Trump; the Feds have the goods; Cohen has to flip. Tom Arnold, who knows Cohen personally, said on Twitter on Sunday that he saw Cohen and he seemed ‘at peace’ with everything. One of his followers asked if that means he had flipped. Arnold replied something to the effect of ‘I certainly would’. Yeah - Cohen has flipped. I also think the speed of the Special Master in demanding that Cohen put up or shut up on claiming privilege also tests the hypothesis, as I am (thus far) unaware of major pushback from Cohen’s legal team. Even if the gov’t is right that there is a very limited amount of privileged material, I would expect the normally feisty Cohen to mount an aggressive strategy to contest items. I’ve not heard anything along those lines yet (though I could be wrong). If his legal team isn’t challenging the privilege issue too strenuously, perhaps it means he doesn’t care as much because he is going to cooperate with the gov’t.

You don’t have to actually cross the Russian mob if you are in a position where you might turn on them. They take a very conservative approach to keeping out of perceived possible problems. And with the CIA running under Putin’s agent, there is not much hope for the witness protection plan working. The good news is the father-in-law-outlaw will probably protect his daughter and grand children. Enjoy those cigars Michael and don’t buy any green bananas.

It’s an interesting feat of psychological acrobatics to support someone like Trump, do all the legal dirty work for Trump, threaten people with lawsuits (i.e. ruin their lives), carry out said lawsuits, and then-- when the bills come due-- whine about it.
Self reflection is not their strong suit.
Of course, these are the same people who would cry foul as they were being frog marched for their crimes to the Ninth Pit of Hell by Satan himself…
