Discussion: CO Protests Of School Board Changes To AP History, Teacher Pay Escalate

Probably going to need a week’s worth from every teacher so that the school board can establish a baseline from which to make a fair evaluation. Should keep them busy for weeks

That would be populace, as long as we are on the subject of spelling.

BFFs don’t let BFFs spell stupid.

Sorry Eustace, it’s HOoEy NoT wHoOEY !!!1…!!111… I’m and English teacher, and good
spelling does count for something.

Which Tenth Amendment are you referring to? The one in my Constitution doesn’t specify anything whatsoever about a ‘private sector’. It mentions states and the people, but no private sector. In fact, I think you’d be hard pressed to find anything about free enterprise anywhere in the Constitution.

Oh, and by the way, there are three ways to spell there/their/they’re. As in: Hey, look over there, they’re looking for their education.

Nothing wrong with encouraging kids to think for themselves, so the teachers should accept any such accusations, about teaching critical thinking and the duties of a free citizenry in a democracy, with both professional and civic pride. Good for you! You go teachers of Jefferson County Colorado!

No curriculum should "promote patriotism.” You teach people the truth and let them decide how patriotic, or civil disobedient they want to be.

Surely as an English teacher, you should recognize satire for what it is…

And when they write the history of Jefferson Co. Colorado, the school board will have a chapter all to themselves. Maybe.

Indeed. What the Jefferson County school board is pushing for is propaganda.

downright brainwashing

The tenth amendment:
“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

When the wording of the amendment was debated, there was a proposal that it should state the powers not “expressly delegated” are reserved. Madison argued against the use of “expressly,” on the basis that implied powers must be permitted. He prevailed. By the way, the tenth says not a damn thing about education,or the “private sector.”

Once again, a self-styled “conservative” and “defender of the Constitution” demonstrates that what he calls the Constitution is just some made up crap in his head that is only very loosely connected to the actual Constitution.

It’s OK because they are only ruining the schools that we pay for with our tax money to prove that government doesn’t work.

Unfortunately… Yes…

Unfortunately, no matter how cogent and erudite your statement may be, I cannot read it due to that ridiculous random capitalizations. Why do you do that?

Mike is just what the Koch brothers want…an uneducated, underpaid, tea party supporting, get rid of the minimum wag, population. They want to turn this country into the low wage capital of the world… They can then bring all of those high paying Asian and Indian jobs back here…
