DeVos Dodges On CDC Guidelines | Talking Points Memo

Exactly. There is probably also some wishful thinking in those polls, with parents assuming schools will be given massive resources to adjust to the pandemic and keep their kids safe. Which won’t happen. DeVos is basically advocating for the “wash through” approach to the virus.

They should try polling teachers. Ask them how excited they are to get back to full classes.

Just think how many more times he’s played golf than he’s given even a thought about people who are actually suffering and dying from COVID-19 (as opposed to thinking and complaining about how he’s the victim of the pandemic).

DeVos then added that education leaders are “smart people who can figure things out.”

Unless, of course, they figure out that students and parents would be safer if schools combined distance learning with limited face-to-face classroom work under conditions “recommended” by CDC. Then they are liberal anarchist intent on bringing down the Trump administration. In her world, you are only smart if you agree with them

I started taking Tom Joseph a lot more seriously after I made that connection. A lot of dementia symptoms can be questioned, especially at first. But I don’t know of too many other conditions that cause you to stand in that bizarre way.

He meant Disney World but still Florida. Ugh.

New daily coronavirus cases in Florida 35% higher than New York’s worst day.

And they opened Disneyland yesterday. https://t.co/A5fcsa9d5F

Can we talk about shelving for a minute?
In my house built in 1962 every closet has one or more shelves. They were constructed by nailing/screwing in 3 cleats (1/3 of an inch wide) and then solid wood shelves were cut to fit. None of these shelves have fallen down, or warped.
So why is it when I had contractor come in to redo my bathroom he first wanted to rip out my linen closest? I told him no because the closet is there because the flue from the water heater runs up from the first floor through the closet and to the roof. His next suggesting was to replace my perfectly fine wooden shelves with wire shelves. I said NO.

Instead of a like, an OMG option would be reasonable.

I have this thought in my head this weekend, America is about to grow the hell up this coming week.

It also makes the teacher’s job more difficult.

For the same reason a contractor I talked to suggest 10K for lowering a 6 foot stretch of soil 8 inches for better drainage.

I just went to a docs office and a library this week and there was more plexiglass than in a hockey rink.

Investment idea: I’m beginning to think that plexiglass makers are the new NetFlix.

Pence at least remembers to mention it. For Trump it’s always an afterthought, and he launches into his unctuous blather about how it’s horrible, it’s awful, one is too many, but if you think about it in a different way we’re really doing very well. If he imitated an actual human being even as well as Pence, he might still have a shot. But as absolutely vital as it is for him to do so, he can’t plausibly pretend to care.

She might be on one of her 10 yachts. They would have builtin cabinetry.

Kids get driven to school most places I’ve lived as an adult. The traffic around schools is crazy.
