I donāt disagree, but we run the risk of impeachment burnout if they keep going back to the Trump well of crimes. If we canāt get him on abuse of power and obstruction, we are really and truly fucked.

I approve of Schiffās messaging, which points out that all this conduct is the outcome of Trumpās defining characteristic: heās a cheater. Cheats at business, cheats on his wives, cheats at golf, and now that heās a politician, cheating at elections.

Itās easy, a way out. When doom is guaranteed, you donāt need to pick battles or strategy. You can just out-Eeyore the crowd and then wear out your arm patting yourself on the back for not being as naive as the rest of those sheeple.

I believe the reason they didnāt is that many people are having a hard time understanding how asking for a favor constitutes ābriberyāā¦ Like this: āduh, he didnāt bribe anyoneā ā "no, he asked for a bribe before doing somethingā ā ābut he didnāt ask for money, so howās it a bribe??ā ā and so on and so forth ad nauseam.
The Goopers would have been able to play off Joe MAGAt not getting it, and use this ignorance to obfuscate everything, instill doubt and discredit the really concrete stuff.
But Cheatolini telling his people not to testify and to ignore subpoenas is pretty damned straightforward and easy to understand, even for the less, well, politically tuned-in.

Matt Gaetz could be considered a Trump understudy, with a few years yet to learn to utter goofy things about sinks, showers, and toilets which he believes have been sabotaged to please environmentalists and other liberals. The right people love him. Heās already somewhat of a sociopath, so the seeds are there.
The right wing made Trump, not the other way around. Heās a lifelong opportunistic con man who saw an easy path to notoriety and dollars. The same forces made Hannity, Huckabee, and a long list of other laughably cartoonish clowns who shouldnāt have the influence they do. The forces that made these people are going nowhere.

Trump is the result of the progressive stupidity/criminality of all republican presidents since Tricky Dick (who taped his criminal plotting), Alzheimers Reagan -who couldnāt remember his criminal plots, Village Idiot Bush2 who admitted he authorized war crimes, and now Boss Donny-Two-Scoops who boasts of his treasonous crimes.
And why not? They all got away with their crimes. Just as Two-Scoops will.

After watching the shitshow yesterday, and understanding that this would be the case for every single hearing going forward, I agree with Pelosi and Schiff pulling the trigger on this thing now.
Trump is guilty and everyone, including his supporters, knows it. Going forward this is a referendum on the dishonesty and moral bankruptcy of the Republican party.
