CDC Director Behind Deletion Of Evidence Of Interference In COVID Report

I suspect we are going to find massive violations of that particular law, throughout the administration. More so than even their near continuous violations of the Hatch Act.

That 45% are akin to Orly Taitz, the birther queen who could not be convinced that Obama was born in America. It did not matter what evidence was available, And she was repeatedly laughed out of court with her lawsuits. It was impossible to explain to her Obama was born in Hawaii which at the time in 1962 was an actual American state. No amount of evidence would change her mind. That’s the way this 45% is. They believe and trust any lie trump tells. Without the slightest reservation. It’s really an amazing feat of snake oil salesmanship.

Alex: Is that all that’s botherin’ ya, bunky? And your team lost the playoffs and so now it’s the World Series and so ya hafta root for another team that ya HATED all season long?
If that’s all then sing the Stars and Sripes Forever and STFU.

I am unaware of any state or federal criminal law that would apply to these circumstances. Letting the general public get sick and die, even intentionally and with malice aforethought, is not a crime.

I thought Hillary’s emails were nothing and I don’t want to execute Redfield, but I will be happy to see him gone. He has been far and away the worst CDC head. I know some of the career people there and they deserve much better. Biden’s choice to replace him will be far better and hopefully the agency can once again be a great resource for the world.

Evangelical hack looking for redemption of his earthly ambitious sins in a heaven that does not exist. Deplorable but typical.

Not all of them. Some have been moved into career positions with Civil Service Protections, that allow termination only for “cause.” The new General counsel to the NSA comes to mind:

Ellis served as the Senior Associate Counsel to the President and Deputy Legal Advisor to the National Security Council (NSC).[5] In March 2020 Ellis was appointed Senior Director for Intelligence on the NSC.[6][7] After Trump lost his bid for re-election in November 2020, Ellis was installed as general counsel of the National Security Agency.[8][9][3] The latter position was within the federal civil service, giving Ellis additional employment protections.[4]

If one is in a position dedicated to protecting those who elected them I would have assumed that “protection” mattered in a legal sense. So it’s not illegal for trump to not defend America? In the legal sense?(I apologize for the double negative)

“Let 'em die. Who gives a shit” is not great optics.

Redfield is not the top of my list for jail, but maybe in the second 10. He’s just a stooge, with no further ambitions but to slink away into retirement. Doubt this will be prosecuted–since it’s the least of the crimes the CDC has committed, which I’ll wager we’ll find out soon enough as more of the career folks there start talking.

CDC director Robert Redfield ordered the deletion of an email showing political interference in COVID-19 guidance deemed damaging to President Donald Trump…

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

It is 2020 after all.

How many times has the Trump maladministration officials were told, “make the boss look good, or else?”. How many of the Trump maladministration officials were pressured into delivering remarks as if they were conducting this fight against COVID like a well prepared and trained Asian country?
Of course from the top to the sides, the CDC and was under pressure not to point out that the boss was delusional, a sociopath, and insecure little man child, and just plain nuts with handling of the pandemic.

At what point does something like this turn into Conspiracy to Commit Murder?

A face eating leopard can not change it’s spots or penchant to eating faces. Ellis will be radio collared and track 24/7 while in that position.

Probably could tease out some distinctions in that 45%. There are, of course, the people that form the Trump base. It is based on the strange psychodynamics of authoritarian regimes, including the need among certain people, particularly males to be submissive to an alpha while manifesting hypermasculinity displays and adornments such as guns, flags, camo, and pickup trucks. But there are also the clueless, people that Jay Leno used to interview for comedic purposes. The Lumpenproletariat as Josh was discussing the other day. It is not a crime to be ignorant, but it sure doesn’t benefit public health efforts. An old Frank Bruni NYT opinion piece on the subject noted that American ignorance could perform worse than a random walk with no information beyond the number of possible choices.

Here’s one of my favorite findings: in a poll in 2011, after intense, closely chronicled fiscal battles in California, a sampling of the state’s residents were quizzed about which category of spending accounted for the biggest share of California’s budget. Only 16 percent correctly said public education through the 12th grade. And they did this poorly in spite of being given just four possible answers, including the correct one, from which to choose. They more or less underperformed the odds.
