The oath of office is to faithfully execute the office of President and to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution. Even if it were a crime to violate that oath (and to be clear, it is not), it doesn’t say anything about protecting the people. Nor does the Constitution, nor does any federal or state criminal law. We could certainly try to criminalize indifference to a pandemic, but right now our only recourse is impeachment and elections.

Covid notes from all over: They just closed the borough hall in my small town to the public until further notice. And last night my sister went to the nearest (not that near) IKEA well after dinner to avoid the weekend crowds. I time any visit to a public building the same way. It’s bad and it’s getting worse. Thanks, Donald, and drop dead there’s a good fellow.

Appoint 1 special prosecutor for each gov’t department and then 1 just for Trump. Redfield is one of the most discredited persons in this Administration. He should be an easy target for a prosecutor.

Except that Clinton’s emails weren’t lost or deleted, not even the 30,000 or whatever allegedly missing ones that weren’t missing.
In this case, Redfield intentionally deleted messages. Execution might be a little too far, but 6 months with two MS-13 gang members as cellies would probably make the next guy think twice about doing it.
