Can Redfield be terminated, or does Joe just need to reassign him to counting COVID cases in Antarctica?

I can literally smell Redfield sweating from here. Having your fingerprints all over what amounts to willful negligence genocide can’t be a comfortable position.

Perjury, contempt of Congress, destruction of public records. Or as the Trump Administration describes it, “Thursday.”

As recently as 5 years ago, this was enough of a scandal to have brought down a president in disgrace. And yet there have been hundreds, if not thousands of incidents like this and 100x worse, throughout the Trump admin.

Please tell me this behavior is subject to prosecution. Lawyers?

Yes, Biden could fire Redfield on Day One, if he wanted to.

One would think that, immediately following the inauguration, lots of documents and witnesses will be appearing before these committees. There will be few executive privilege claims and those that are made will be in the courts, post haste. Sort of like Watergate, lots of things will be discovered after the fact, guilty parties will be held accountable and legislation to prevent such occurrences will be written.

IANAL, but this seems beyond mere “shenanigans”. Isn’t it a federal crime to destroy such records?

I’ve had it with Redfield. He and Dr. Scarf can lick Trump’s boots in hell.
