The point for Trump and his co-defendants is to file whatever lawyers can dream up, even if it’s legally garbage, in order to give Cannon more reason to delay the trial further in the hopes that, if Trump wins (or steals) the election in November, he’ll call off the whole prosecution.
Normally, of course, such conversations would be protected by attorney-client privilege, but there’s a relatively rare exception: the crime-fraud exception. If the government can make a prima facie (on-its-face) showing that Trump committed a crime or fraud, and that his communications with his lawyer furthered the criminal scheme, the privilege is gone. Howell found the crime-fraud exception was established in this case.

Thanks for the article. When Jamie Raskin talks, I will always listen. What he’s saying is we desperately need to win in November at all levels to save democracy. Because this SCOTUS is shamelessly out of control and out of touch.

I laugh at the supposed “job” Trump will have waiting for Navarro. Trump doesn’t want competition for the sob story $$. Navarro will blab/cry one time too often and be gone.

With 20-20 hindsight I can see that he was absolutely correct.
Iran realizes, along with the rest of the world, that you cannot trust an American government past the next election cycle. Trump’s war on everything Obama did set us back 30 years and we are still paying, and will continue to pay, for decades.
Of course, if he is elected, none of that will matter.

Perhaps a more conceptually striking way of putting is that close to 70% of current members of the House Republican membership are election deniers, while nearly 40% of Senate Republicans are.
