Seriously. When this whole sorry saga (13 year old derangement syndrome) is written and made into a visual (minus Ken Burns or Ron Howard); grown-ass adults trying to overthrow the U. S. Government with fake electors and vote-changing-satellites from Italy… Hopefully enough Americans will still care. (If only Franklin, Madison and Hamilton had known about satellites.)
He looks like an eel. Do we have a federal supermax aquarium?
I really hope we win because their filmmakers are just awful!
The whole notion of a CheeseHead has taken on new meaning!
Bullshit.
Greed that Willis acted stupidly. But six figures seems a reasonable rate of pay, if annual…
Here is The Cheese looking like he had a guest appearance on ‘The Love Boat’
Not my best work, had to quickly recreate it…can’t find the old one
Hiring your boyfriend – at, below, or above market value – to conduct the prosecution of a case that needs to be completely beyond reproach is flat-out stupidity. If you disclose that shit at at the outset, all hell breaks loose. If you conceal that shit until the oppo research defendant figures it out, all hell breaks loose.
Don’t do things that make all hell break loose.
(Cheese + wheel) x grinds / slowly = justice
Depends on your part of the state. I saw it in both the local (Lee Enterprises owned) paper and the television news, the suing, that they were negotiating, the settlement.
As for any other lawsuit, those Lame Duck laws passed before Little Scottie left office give the legislature oversight into lawsuit brought - or attempting to be brought - by the state Attorney General (Josh Kaul). Surprisingly, even with their RWNJ spin on things, the Federalist Society had one of the best summaries. And that’s after saying it was “overblown”.
Wisconsin Enacts Laws Limiting Powers of Governor and Attorney General
Allows Legislature to Intervene in a Case Involving the State : Under current law, the attorney general has the authority to appear for the state and defend or prosecute all actions and proceedings. This bill allows either the Committee on Assembly Organization or the Committee on Senate Organization to intervene in the action to and obtain legal counsel. The Joint Committee on Legislative Organization (JCLO) may also intervene and obtain legal counsel
But hey, there’s no effect on the separation of powers, right?
It’s why, now that the balance has shifted in the WI SC, Tony Evers and Kaul are suing the legislature.
Feud between Wisconsin attorney general, lawmakers goes before appellate court
Five years into the governorship, a year into his second term, some of the Evers first term appoints languish. Until they are eventually “fired” by the legislature. Scott Walker appointees don’t need to leave office at the end of the terms, for years, until their replacement is sworn in The replacements the GQP legislature refuses to even hold a hearing on, until they do and give a thumbs down,
Republicans understand that it is the screaming banshees that gets on the news. We don’t make the cut with our leaders devoted to the Marquess of Queensberry.
There isn’t a term limit on Wisconsin governors. And unless the Evers/Kaul lawsuit is successful, the Legislature will maintain control over lawsuits filed by the Attorney General, thanks to the Lame Duck laws stripping those offices of their power after Walker lost.
And then there’s this bit of hopeful positivity -
Some won’t run at all, many will run in their new districts, but while they may not take over both houses, they will become more nearly even. Super majority will hopefully be way gone in the Senate and the Assembly should not have a chance at achieving one (one away from it last time.) Things look a lot more competitive.
Now we just need to get the DNC and the Senate version off their asses and do more than one commercial against Eric Hovde in the Tammy Baldwin race.
I sure hope so. The tying in knots of legislation and appointments in Wisconsin is way overdue to end.
I was at Rustoleum, just over the border from Wisconsin, when the legislature revoked the powers for Evers before he was even inaugurated. It was a petty move made by petty people who thought they could get away with it. Glad to see all this time later that they didn’t get away with it.
What I want to know about that photo is why are they all wearing masks? Thought people who wear masks are un American freedom haters… Or something… Only libtards who are afraid of their own shadow wear masks.
Possibly dated back to 2020, is my guess, when this activity all took place?
Two-tiered justice system!!
Banana republic!!
Biden weaponized Justice Department!!
They didn’t succeed in stopping Biden from taking office so it’s not a crime!!
Etc., etc., etc., ad infinitum.
That’s a really good point. If they had succeeded in stealing the election, this lawsuit never would’ve come up. Lest the prosecutor find his head on a pike. So in that sense, it is political.
New Mexico, but as Le_Monde_Inverse has noted, the NM fake certificate included the clause of “iff the prior vote count in favor of Biden were overurned.” Steve Pearce is the head of party here, and smart enough to make sure that was put in, as well as keeping his name totally out of it.
It was December 2020, and presumably they had enough education to appreciate basic science. They didn’t find their fake electors on r/the_donald.
