3 Organizers Of Trump Fake Elex Plot—Including Chesebro—Indicted In Wisconsin

I’m no expert on Wisconsin criminal procedure, but typically a plea bargain obviates the need for a grand jury indictment.

What’s becoming very clear to me, however, is that our criminal laws are not up to the challenge of an electoral coup. Seriously, these scumbags were absolutely trying to steal a presidential election and all that happens to them is a Class H felony, the equivalent of a fourth DUI offense.

This is only going after the Chump team, not the actual fraud electors in WI.

There has been some cooperation from Chesebro and Troupis

The actual fraud electors did get some kind of wrist slap, going from memory and I am trying to find an article…where they agreed they did a bad thing. But no charges. And almost every single minute of this was NOT broadcast. It has made no ripple in WI news, has not been a big deal, barely got any press, and none of the RW ecosystem has been held up for real scrutiny or pillorying.

The fake electors have a viable defense that they did not intend to deceive, as they were told their fake ballots were only going to be submitted if the courts decided trump actually won Wisconsin. These three treasonous bastards have no such defense, as they worked really hard to get the fake ballots into Mike Pence’s hands on January 6 regardless of all the losing in the courts.

Rojoke needs to be hauled in as well

The one and same. And that in no way absolves Fani Willis of idiocy for paying her boyfriend six figures to lead the prosecution.

That Trumpesque Hair-swoop does no favors here.

He’s been talking to the law for months now. We just don’t hear about it until something happens that brings it into the public domain.

Harder to make the forgery case against RonJon. He’s more like an after-the-fact accessory.

One count of forgery, that’s not much.

The Democratic party sure has the bit in their mouth now!

Boy howdy!

They sure don’t have much of a fire in their bellies. I try to imagine them in Philly in 1776 and I don’t see Thomas Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence, but I can envision a sternly worded letter to the King.

One thing about the convicted felon, he never stops. We have too many tired, old people running the party. That’s fine for running the actual government, leavened with energetic folks like Ms. Ocasio-Cortez and Ms. Nessel, but for dealing with an unprincipled and beyond greedy bunch of no good thieving terrorist crooks, they’re pretty much useless.

Sure would like to see a lot more aggressive and forceful and FAST actions to put the rabid gop rat down.

From your perspective as an attorney…is there a future to that case? Can it survive the massive stupidity of Willis?

As a legal expert, what alternative charges would you suggest? Bonus points if you can explain how they would actually fit the known facts, so that I don’t have to explain why you’re wrong.

They had Eastman’s input from Jinny Thomas on how the SC court could play. All they needed was a less fearful vice president.

Their minds are rotten - and dangerous.

Well I suppose it hinges on what you forged and why. There’s also the nasty detail that the dudes an attorney and knew damn well what he was doing was wrong and how wrong it was.

And to my mind, it’s come entirely too late in the game.

November is five months away. There’s no way this case gets entirely prosecuted prior to the election or to the certification of the election results.

There’s not a lot of good feeling about the State AG - that he’s more trying to be the next Governor, since Evers is term-limited. It would’ve been nice if this had been brought a year ago. Hell, the case in Fulton county isn’t even complete yet, so I don’t understand why this is being treated with such celebration. The timing is ridiculous.

I think she could obtain a RICO conviction if it ever gets to trial, but I am also confident that the very awful SCOGA will obviously bail trump out of any conviction. She massively overcharged it with RICO when the obvious election crimes were only misdemeanors under Georgia law.

And that’s been my position ever since she brought the indictment.
