Discussion: Trump: There's A 'Chance' We'll Have 'Major, Major Conflict With North Korea'

T rump is planning on a major conflict. War with N. Korea, or war with Iran, are the only things he has control over. He is desperate for any meaningful accomplishment, and war serves several convenient purposes. #1, it soothes his ego that he can actually accomplish something. Anything. #2, it puts his name in the history books. That alone is enough for him. #3, it ties up the entire world in a conflict that revolves around him. #4, war buys him time, and serves as a distraction from all of the investigations going on around him and his staff. Get ready World! Weā€™re going to war! This time, with Nukes! #5, heā€™ll take credit for the resulting nuclear winter as the solution to global warming. By groping his war to nuclear war, he saves the planet.

And the clock ticks a few seconds closer to midnight. Exactly what Bannon wants.

Everything this joker says sounds like a small child who is trying to piece together his own grasp of the issues in real time. I hate to get all armageddony but it seems like the worldā€™s only hope is that the career military men keep him distracted enough to avoid provoking WW3.

Subtext - like a cockroach, Trump would probably be one of the few survivors of such a thermonuclear conflict - sitting in his playpen deep in some mountain bunker playing with his Army toys.

Shooting at large armies isnā€™t their thing. Just large endangered animals, the kind that look good stuffed as a testament to bravery.

Talk of warstarting always warrants attention.

War with any nation would be stupid so ā€¦
Weā€™re boned.
O well, on to the second 100 days.

I like how GOP strategist Rick Wilson put it:

ā€œDonald Trump keeps looking at these things as a real estate negotiation with a lot of bluster and a lot of bluffing. and fails to realize that weā€™re dealing with a country that is not a rational actor and that is poised to do damage to a significant ally of ours if we miscalculate on this thing,ā€ ā€œI would much rather have McMaster and Mattis and even Rex Tillerson handling this right now than this verbally incontinent man-child who feels like he is moving little toy soldiers around the board.ā€

Cowardice. Itā€™s a family tradition.

Weird how wartalk ramps up whenever new Kremlin connections surface. Very strange.

Well, people familiar with negotiations say Trump is looking at an Executive Order lifting all of the Obama-era protections against metaphor-mixing. Iā€™m sure McCain will have a position on this Sunday.
WE SHALL SEE.

Crooked Donny canā€™t negotiate his way out of a nuclear war.

You donā€™t understand Trumpā€™s strategery, itā€™s pure genius, he threatens and backs down so many times until the North Koreans start ignoring him, then he strikes catching them with their pants down. How about them apples?
