ROME (AP) — With confirmed coronavirus cases in the U.S. hitting 5 million Sunday, by far the highest of any country, the failure of the most powerful nation in the world to contain the scourge has been met with astonishment and alarm in Europe.
The most amazing part of this is that all these cases and deaths and suffering were deliberate policy decisions by Trump, who takes no responsibility at all.
I wouldn’t care at all if jerks like Julia Ferjo died of COVID, if only they didn’t pass it on to the equally stupid people in her classes and then to innocent people just trying to keep living their lives in the safest way possible right now. Ditto for the brain dead folks at Sturgis.
Yes, he could because people like you really hate this country and what it once meant: not perfect but trying to be live up to its promise. Draping yourself in the flag and worshiping the Rump does not make you a patriot. It makes you a fascist.
I mean no disrespect for the wonderful people of Italy who have given so much to the world, but they have never been a model of good government, as even most Italians would admit. So when they look like a beacon of sound policy compared to the US, that is really saying something.
Our suicide rate is high compared to other wealthy nations even in normal times. Covid allows for passive, barely aware suicide without responsibility. The Republican death cult is largely to blame for all of it.
