My feeling about these cabinet picks, bad as they are, is their qualifications and personal ideology, may not be that important. They are likely figure-head stooges that will be micro-managed by the real evil in the white-house staff.

I caught some of the Sunday morning shows yesterday while visiting family. All the TV minutes spent on his sex scandal and very little time spent on his fundamental lack of competence to administer the most powerful military-industrial entity on the planet. It was mind numbing. But I guess 50 percent of America wants their minds numbed.

I think Hegseth is doomed, too. But as DK points out with Bondi, the second nominee will probably be just like the first but able to hide it better.

All these people will have such fun tearing down some perfectly effective government initiatives while ignoring the kickbacks to Big Corporate. (I gotta love the folks who will be in charge of our healthcare ranting about “poisons.” Are they planning to break up ConAgra or factory slaughterhouses? No?)
But when the crisis happens – and there’s always a crisis – it’ll be a circular firing squad, with all of us caught in the crossfire.
