Wisconsin Judge Slams GOP Review Of 2020 Election

A Wisconsin judge ripped into the partisan “investigation” of Wisconsin’s 2020 election Thursday, saying not only had it not uncovered any evidence of voter fraud, but also that the process had “punished” the people of Wisconsin.

$98K is not chump change but they still got off easy.

The real “witch hunts” are all these right-wing GQP efforts to overturn an election that was certified 1½ years ago. What a colossal waste of resources!

Look at the bright side, Gableman didn’t think he could get away with soaking WI voters with a trip to China!

These election-denying A-holes should be made to pay the attorneys fees plus damages out of their own damn pockets. Making taxpayers pay just adds travesty on a travesty.

Too bad court couldn’t impose the penalties on them individually, rather than have to have the state (the citizens) pay it. She understood that.

This election review is beyond ridiculous. The review began after a trip to Mar-a-Lago to kneel before TFG.

Then a buffoon (Michael Gableman) was named to head the review. In his own words “I did not have a very sophisticated or intricate understanding (of elections),” The first two months of his review he did most of his work at a public library because he did not have a computer of his own. Really???

Gableman then took a trip to Arizona to observe its Cyber Ninja review of ballots cast during the 2020 election and attended a conspiracy theory-fueled symposium in South Dakota on election fraud [headed by MyPillow’s chief executive Mike Lindell.

He was cited with a contempt order for failure to turn over records. The review is on pause BUT he is still being paid. Gableman’s protracted investigation has failed to produce any evidence that there was widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election.

It really sucks to live in gerrymandered Wisconsin where there are always more Democrat votes for the State Senate and House yet the districts are designed with a huge Republican advantage.

Imagine that–a FORMER State Supreme Court Just-Us claiming NO KNOWLEDGE OF HOW ELECTIONS WORK???

What is the cure for ‘Bat Shit Crazy’. Appears to be a lot of that going around on the GQP side of politics and a cure needs to be found. You cannot govern a country where one side deals in lies, conspiracies and alternative facts.

These people are going to beat this dead horse until some judge can take their club away from them and start beating them over the head with it. Until that day, we are going to have these stupid lawsuits.

They got off super easy. Those 98K will be paid by the taxpayers, that was the Judge reasoning for not awarding more.

I would think that any lawyer that knows anything about election law would ever be convinced to take the job. But then again, the point of this isn’t to ever actually find anything systematically wrong, because there isn’t anything systematically wrong. They just need to keep these sham investigations going as long as they can so the Trump sympathizers can continue to cast doubt on the election by pointing to these ongoing “investigations”. It should not be possible to open an investigation on the tax payer’s dime with only grievance. But there you have it, evidence free investigation. It’s baffling to say the least.

It looks to be a long, long time before Wisconsin is restored to sanity, but this verdict is a good step in the right direction.

Great metaphor! Thanks!

They’ve convinced themselves fraud must have happened, so in their eyes if they just keep at it eventually they’ll find proof.

It’s like if you paid a lot of money for a treasure map, and ten years later you’re still digging holes on some remote island just knowing there’s a chest full of doubloons here somewhere. Except you bought the map from a known con artist.

The goobers just cannot admit they lost
trump cannot admit he lost even though he knows he did.
This is the original “sore loser” syndrome and it makes the goobers look really really stupid.

No, I’m convinced the perpetrators of this fraudulent review understand perfectly that there was nothing wrong with the election other than the (to them) unfavorable result. But continued unjustified “investigations” like this are part of the Republican arsenal for agitating their base and maitaining a grip on power. So they continue. See also, “Benghazi.”

Gableman always looks like he’s going to explode. And to think that he was a WI State Supreme Court justice is frightening.

Perhaps if the judge had levied further punitive damages that would incentivize the taxpayers of Wisconsin not to elect these idiots in the first place.
