WI Supreme Court Delivers Blow To Trump An Hour Before Electors Seal Biden’s Win | Talking Points Memo

We need to finally conduct Reconstruction and actually FINISH it.

Though admittedly, the majority said the case was wholly without merit while the minority was only claiming that it should be reviewed, not how they would have ruled. I’m sure they would have examined things with a critical eye and come to a conclusion concomitant with the facts. How is it that everyone on this thread is assuming the minority would have ruled in Trump’s favor?

It is a mystery.

These decisions must remain as an albatross around hers and the others necks.

This is coming from the 80 year old Chief Justice who has served on the WI SC for 17 years.

Kudos to Ben Wikler and the DPW!

It would be like saying, “Man, I’d love some honey right now” and plunging your bare hands into a beehive. Even the most evil people, if they retain an ability to weigh risks and benefits, will refrain from buying themselves more trouble than they can handle.

Dems also need to do some uncomfortable, non-traditional things they generally resist doing to change the dynamics too. Lots of ideas out there. I understand returning to some semblance of normalcy so many of us can rest easy that we’re once again in good hands, but the old stodgy status quo should be out of the question. We need some dramatic changes to how politicians in the majority (the true majority, not the gerrymandered one) can conduct business.

So you’re right. It begins with voting rights. Something that the end of the first reconstruction after the first Civil War got rid of.

Age might be a factor, if that’s what you’re saying, but I’ve heard this argument about how people feel versus the obvious goddamn facts made more than once in recent days.

How many electors can fit into a suitcase?

Well, it works for the Wisconsin legislature.

This distribution has pretty much been in place for the last ten years, after the Walker era gerrymandering of the State. If it works for the State legislature, why not for everything else?

She’s a white Christian nationalist clown trying to save the country from Global Browning. You can bet your genitals she’s full-on whole-hog Trump KKKult.

From wikipedia:

"On May 5, 2020, during oral arguments in Wisconsin’s stay-at-home order case, which challenges the extension of statewide business and school closures due to the outbreak of COVID-19, Roggensack challenged the idea that the outbreak was community-wide and could be replicated elsewhere. Arguing that the most recent increase in COVID cases mainly reflected an isolated outbreak at one meatpacking facility, she commented, “Due to the meatpacking, though, that’s where Brown County got the flare. It wasn’t just the regular folks in Brown County.””

It’s the definitive trait of the GOP old guard. Lose on the social/political issues so you can whine to your base about how badly the “Left” is treating them and you need their money support to continue the good fight.

It’s split about 50/50 now between those old guard still hanging on and the beehive divers who think they can skip the whole beekeeper’s job and just go straight to the source.

Okay. So they were dishonest, expedient and unprincipled. Not good characterists of a jurist.

I will tell you internally to the State that a lot of folks are pissed off at the judicial irresponsibility of allowing the legislature to revoke gubernatorial powers from Evers that had been granted to Walker and they’re even MORE pissed off of the backing of the GOP to shut down any relevant mandates with respect to the virus.

Karofsky is only the beginning of the change in the court. People are dying at atrocious rates in this State and positivity percentages are in the 30s these days, even with testing having been significantly hamstrung.

The people of Wisconsin will be bouncing another justice or two in the next few years (another reason for me to remain in Wisconsin until at least November, 2022, in addition to re-electing Evers and un-electing Johnson).

I had someone this morning tell me that they NOW have the evidence and it’s irrefutable and unquestionable.

Of course, he couldn’t direct me to it, nor could he tell me why NONE of it was presented in any of the 59 failed court cases.

This guy also told me that Biden will only be a figurehead President, turning all control over to Kamala who, by the way, really isn’t of minority heritage, any more than Elizabeth Warren is.

Yeah - these people exist. Honest, they do.

Sooooo…there are 50 or so independent, isolated outbreaks, one in every state? Plus however many countries might be out there in “Here be Dragons” territory?
