For the record, this is our Amy, who passed away on 27 November at the age of 11. Average life span of a goat is 7 - 8 years, 9 tops. Our vet is quite impressed that we have had some double-digit longevity in the herd.

Back in the early 60s I used to attend wrestling matches. Bobo Brazil, Flying Fred Curry, The Sheik, Buddy Rogers, Bruno Sammartino, Dick the Bruiser. It was a grand time, much different than today’s matches. For one you didn’t bring chairs, ladders, boards, chains, ball bats and other crap into the ring. You WRESTLED.

This is the Confederate model writ large. They’ve been blaming the government as a way to assuage their own corruption and failures in the overhwelming majority of the states they represent.
Now they own the whole tamale, through unlimited money and media monopolies, and it just doesn’t work. What’s farcical is that they have their hands deep in the guts of the money; the failed states rely on largesse from the government they are sworn to bring down in the name of whomever.
Car caught. Now they have to try and assume the mantel of the righteous old-money machine that actually owns the government and are caught on the horns: Government is an utter failure unless they are the government, and when they are the government they are invested in its failure.

Democratic Senate leader Schumer calls on GOP to honor original government funding deal
In brief remarks from the Senate floor, Democratic majority leader Chuck Schumer called on Republicans to honor a government funding agreement that appeared set to pass earlier this week, before Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s demands scuttled the deal.
“It’s time to go back to the original agreement we had just a few days ago. It’s time for that. It’s time the House votes on our bipartisan CR,” Schumer said.
“It’s the quickest, simplest and easiest way we can make sure the government stays open, while delivering critical emergency aid to the American people. If the House put our original agreement on the floor today, it would pass, and we could put the threat of a shutdown behind us.”
