Why A Judge’s Rebuke Of Barr’s Mueller Report Shenanigans Was So Remarkable | Talking Points Memo

“Barr behind bars” has such a nice ring to it!

I think there’s a whole generation of Republicans who see the current administration’s crimes as a chance to re-litigate Watergate. Republicans would have avoided the black eye (and gotten a head start on owning the libs) if only - Nixon had refused to turn over the tapes. - Senate Republicans had held firm… etc.

This is an excellent piece of reporting by Tierney Sneed.

“Barr’s handling of the Mueller report, and his more recent intervention in the Roger Stone case, hundreds of former DOJ officials have warned that his apparent willingness to bend the Justice Department to the President’s favor was putting its credibility in jeopardy.”

“Was putting” is indeed a feature of political discourse: the denouement is always further off. A different version is along the lines of Barr or Trump has really done it now, as though they had not a long time ago proven conclusively that they are utterly corrupt. There is this strange impulse or desire in people to articulate political awfulness as less established – and thus always requiring more proof – than is in fact the case.

Maybe Mueller? Though I know he is too much of a boy scout to do it.

That’s about a half a step away from criticizing Ilhan Omar for wearing a hijab.

So he says. I don’t buy it for a second. Barr cares very much about his legacy, especially now that things are starting to spin out of his control. I have never known an older powerful man who didn’t expend time thinking about his legacy and I have known quite a few.

He’s such a chickenshit.

Maybe so, but trust me, I’d sooner see Rep. Omar in her hijab, than Mittens in his sanctified skivvies.

Pardon me, but I speak Mittese. Here’s the translation:

“I’m uncomfortable with all the questions I get from reporters about GOP and Trump corruption, so please stop investigating them, and in return I’ll oppose the obviously trumped-up Biden scandal, okay?”

You’re still making your point against his religion rather than his politics. Why is your attack on Mormons different than RW attacks on Muslims?

Has anyone actually seen him wearing this? Doubt it. So let’s not do both sider stuff about religious garments.

Of course Barr is a manipulative ass, but the press is the complicit ass wipe in this saga. The AG’s misdirection was obvious, and yet the fourth estate spewed his words verbatim, as though they were spoken directly from god’s lips. Sad.

I dont see Barr complying with anything whatsoever. Ever. It simply doesn’t matter.

It may not be when honed to a fine point; but, in fact my snarky comment was on aesthetic grounds, rather than religious.

Wow, I’d love to see that.
