Not all of us voted for this, in either state.
All I can do is keep voting for Democratic candidates (even when they are lame - hello, Sarah Stogner) and hope that more people wake up to the jackassery they have been supporting. Paxton’s lawsuit settlement, to be paid by taxpayers, might be one tiny crack in the levee.

- The people who didn’t vote for Abbott or DeSantis are suffering.
- There are people who are gullible and/or foolish and/or stupidly bought into the populist, hateful BS of Abbott or DeSantis and voted for them are suffering. Someday they may regret their choices.
- As for the die hard haters and fascists who thirst for, vote for, and are complicit in electing authoritarian officials, I hope to hell they suffer mightily. That includes Abbott and DeSantis.

What Abbot and Dan Patrick fail to realize is that along with my Blue Austin, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and most cities along the I35 corridor and east are turning Blue®. (Bluer as in purple!)
While I doubt we are going Dem this year give us two years and the majority will be fed up with this crowd. The current R House Speaker is reading the “tea leaves” better than his Senate counterpart Dan Patrick.
