White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt insisted to reporters on Tuesday that the White House is “complying with all court orders” just before delving further into the Trump administration’s latest misdirection in the case surrounding Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the Salvadoran national married to a U.S. citizen and living in Maryland whom Trump officials initially argued,…

Deporting people: Mother Jones has an essay about the use of AI to do things like facial recognition of persons in protest crowds or zip through data bases for key words or names in context to select candidates for deportation.
As I write this, I’m listening to a discussion on TV about the administration ignoring court orders and Congress, the members of which have become ineffectual.

Skipping straight to the sentence of exile is a gross violation of the clear language of the 14th amendment.

When the press secretary claims, without evidence, without a court review, without a trial, without even a hearing, that a father living peacefully in Maryland and married to a US citizen is a gang member, this is slander.

I’ve repeatedly said that the United States government owes this man money. Yes that’s my taxes, but it is my fellow taxpayers who voted for this government. We should have to pay, and the figure should be at least eight digits long.

I am ashamed of America.

"Grassley reportedly responded limply, arguing the Supreme Court doesn’t have the power to dictate what El Salvador does. He then acknowledged that impeachment might be the only way to stop a hypothetical president who hypothetically defies the judiciary. "

OK. There are no hypotheticals. The actual President has actually defied the actual judiciary. So, we can have an impeachment? I must be missing something.

White House Correspondents dinner - sure.

Narcissists are incapable of laughing at themselves. Can anyone here imagine Trump laughing at a joke about himself? Maybe Bill Maher should be the chosen comedian.

Stephen Miller so wishes he could have been alive in 1936 so he could assist Hitler. He’s got the look down cold. Since he was born to late for that, Trump will have to do.

Frank was a cool cat so that counts IMHO.

OTOH Stephen Miller is one venomous little pig; he’s got a real Backpfeifengesicht thing going for himself without a doubt.

"I’m not sure what is so difficult about this for everyone in the media to understand,” Leavitt concluded.

Let me explain. Why still hide the proof?

Leavitt assures us dogs and cats were being gobbled up in Ohio. Forgive our skepticism when big government swoops in and assures us it alone is the solution.

The Republican Party is a communist front.

Okay, about “deporting” natural born American citizens … where? You can’t “deport” us to somewhere other than the United States of America. No matter how old was the “beautiful little old lady” we hit upside the head with a “baseball bat.” (Yes, that was the criterion.)

It’s more akin to “transportation”, but not that, really, because the rendition would be to a third party sovereign country, not a colony or part of the “American Empire.” So the Mad King could claim “we can’t get him back. He’s out of our jurisdiction.”

Historians and history buffs, is this new? Has this kind of atrocity been carried out in the past, that you know of? If so, did it stand, or how was it overcome?

Yes, definitely. It was stupid and servile to have disinvited her in the first place. Don’t the organizers KNOW that the Convict in Chief has never been back to the Correspondents’ Dinner since Obama made jokes about him? The White Potus (SNL, heh!) is a big baby who can’t take kidding.

Abrego Garcia has them cold on slander.

First they claimed that he belonged to one gang and then claimed that he belonged to a different gang which feuds with the first gang. Aside from the fact that Trump has provided no evidence that this guy has done anything it is impossible to be affiliated with both of these gangs. It is one or the other. So at least one of these claims is slanderous

Dick Cheney was doing that with Gitmo after 9/11. Saying if wasn’t American soil and they couldn’t bring it back. But it was for them to transfer there in the first place. Republicans line the legal ‘not it’ black holes.

Because he is a foreign terrorist and an MS-13 gang member. Not only have we confirmed that, President Bukele yesterday in the Oval Office confirmed that as well,” Leavitt continued
… … … … …

FLAT OUT LIES

I seem to remember Ms Leavitt specilically saying she wasn’t gonna lie to the press. There is next to zero proof Garcia is a member of any gang and it is rather difficult to be a terrorist when the man has not committed any crime at all. Shame on you Ms Leavitt for lying to us all.

A liberal libertarian. Nothing funny about that.

Did I get that backwards? Libertarian liberal?
How about we settle for ‘full of shit”? And himself.

Don’t see how it’s much different from rendtion of terrorists to black sites in third party countries where abusive ‘interrogation techniques’ are out of sight and out of mind. Only difference is rendition was used for actual terrorists… enemy combatants. Not members of gangs and cartels called terrorists or agents of foreign governments to gaslight the activity as ‘foreign affairs’.
