White House Insists Trump’s Gathering With MI GOP Leaders Is ‘Not An Advocacy Meeting’

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany denied on Friday that President Donald Trump’s eyebrow-raising meeting with Michigan’s Republican leaders later in the day would be about Trump asking them to appoint electors who would overrule the will of Michigan voters and hand the state to him.

Nothing to see here. Absolutely normal. Move along now.

I’m sure they are just going to talk about adoptions…

Both GOP leaders have previously rejected the notion of a pro-Trump elector scheme: Shirkey asserted earlier this week that scenario is “not going to happen,”

Then why are they in DC to meet with trump? Stay in a nice hotel, ride in a limo like the people who would go on Springer?

Whatever the purpose is:

(1) Everyone knows about it

(2) Everyone know it’s improper

(3) Only Trump Kultists believe McEneny or Trump

Wonder what Trump promised this Shirkey ? Or most likely what Shirkey thinks he will be given, Trump has offered him nothing but the opportunity to kiss his ass and ruin his reputation, even go to jail.

Sorry, crying “wolf” again doesn’t work anymore.

Filling in the blanks.

“ Shirkey asserted earlier this week that scenario is “not going to happen,” and Chatfield tweeted on November 6, “Let me be very clear: whoever gets the most votes [insert: after we make an attempt to throw it to Trump and get shot down by the courts, who we will then blame to keep the trumpsters voting for us] will win Michigan! Period. End of story. Then we move on.”

I disagree with point 3.

Trump cultists and McEneny don’t believe it either but are happy to go along with the lie.

I wonder who is paying for the trip?

Also, who will be present during the meeting?

Actually, I think most of them know full well she is lying, but for them it is righteous lying. “Lying for the Lard.”

Georgia certified so it doesn’t matter.

No one from the campaign…other than the primary focus of the campaign. Little COVID Donnie is just going to talk about the local regulations for keeping domesticated animals in confined ares and similar issues of concern to state legislators. Why? Just because he cares.

Do they have to bring their own kneepads or will they get the ones with the Presidential seal on them?

And we should believe the woman who has never told the truth in her life…why?

Of course the lawmakers from Michigan will be lobbied by Trump. No one believes it’s just tea and crumpets.

Remember the meltdowns on the right when Bill Clinton had a brief chat with Loretta Lynch on an airport tarmack during the 2016 election? Good times.

It’s more what they think will be taken away: their Trump voting base and their sleep as they stay awake each night sitting in a rocking chair with a shotgun across their lap after all the death threats and promises of violence directed toward themselves and their families.

It’s not feasible for Michigan’s legislature to appoint electors. Michigan’s legislature already gave that authority to the state’s SoS and Governor. They can’t repeal the state’s election law then pass some new law that retroactively changes their in-place election laws.

This is almost certainly a strategy meeting. Trump is in a lather over Wayne County certification and Detroit not being given a full cavity search

Excellent point. For TrumpWorld, the lying is part of the turn-on.
