White House Gives Special Recognition To Republicans Touting Infrastructure Fixes From Bill They Voted Against

The White House is continuing its campaign of sarcastic gratitude Tuesday, doling out recognition to specific Republican lawmakers who touted infrastructure investments “spurred by legislation they voted to block.”

Some sarcastic comments and gentle needling of Republican hypocrites is fine, but Democrats should be mounting much more aggressive attacks against these phonies.

Hypocrisy aside, this is a huge improvement over Repugs from Obama’s time.

I remember after the 2010 Tea Party elections that still has Wisconsin wheeling, the new Repug Governor, Scott Walker turned down hundreds of millions for high speed rail. And of course we all know about Repug states turning down all that federal money for healthcare under the ACA/Obamacare.

At least they finally have the brains to take the money and run.

I wrote my Congress villain, Cathy McMorris Rogers A little note shaming her for promoting rural internet grants. A staff member of hers wrote back informing me that she was right to vote against the wasteful spending, but as long as we have it she’s going to make sure it gets spent well.

So, no shame.

Remember the six democrats who voted against it. They are touting the money in their districts as well.

most of these comments make it sound like they voiced objections but voted for the bills

In a series of speeches, Biden has touted his economic achievements, often juxtaposing them with the Trump-era tax cuts as a giveaway to the rich.

Slowly may they turn, step by step, inch by inch, until they’ll get a freaking clue.

And just wait until the bill comes due for all of these climate-related disasters - and the inevitable future ones. Texas just got a large chunk to bolster its electric grid. They’ll screech that shouldn’t have to pay for damage in blue states like Vermont.

Put your note and her reply somewhere where people can see it. Can’t hurt.

I’m reminded of the pamphleteering that was used in the early days. Now, we have the internet, but it can be bypassed and effective in a pinch.

It’s either wasteful or money well spent. Can’t have it both ways.

Of course they can have it both ways. They are Republicans.

Remember keeping the government of of personal medical choices? (But not a uterus)

Remember tax cuts to billionaires will raise revenue? (But not now)

Imagine what the world would look like if the “liberal media” stopped being a bunch of cowardly, stupid stenographers for the GOP, and actually asked these Representatives questions about their voting history, or published their voting history along with these Reps’ comments.

But, to your point, yes, the Democrats need to learn, or re-learn, how to throw a damned elbow.

They hate the idea of government and do as much obstructing and sabotage as they can to make Ronald Reagan’s idiotic “9 worst words” a self-fulfilling prophecy. Then they campaign on the public’s frustration and cynicism.

But when they fail to block some popular initiative that helps people, and can’t immediately strangle it with red tape or steer the funds into some corrupt crony’s pocket, they’re happy to claim credit.

OT.

Those murders by white, although drugged-up, cultish people inspired rage and fear. Of course, some victims were wealthy and/or celebrities.

For too long now, people are murdered indiscriminately by gun nuts, and it rarely gets more than a day in the news.

She is a piece of work. I wish there was a Dem from her district who would run against her and beat her. What does she do for her constituents let alone the rest of us who live in the state.
