This is the entitlement he and people like him assume should be afforded to them. The basic argument is that their uberweath is indicative of intellectual and moral superiority. Those of use who don’t dwell in the economic stratosphere are not only beholding to them for the table scraps they toss us, but that we must believe and defer to them because their superior status demonstrates they are our betters.

The answer on that question dominates the statement about how much blame needs to be assigned to China.

That’s the sort of accusation that, were it not from a member of an administration that no one believes, would be a big deal. As it is, it is “madly casting around for a scapegoat,” part infinity.

This is an interesting argument considering the only thing Trump points to regarding his initial response to the Coronavirus is how he banned travel from China. That is a lie or half-truth at best, certainly, as the NYT has pointed out, but they can’t even keep their lies straight on that.

What if, instead of the host looking gobsmacked, jaw dropped, and going, well, what about? whenever interviewing these people, the host just chuckles, shakes his head (like Reagan used to), and says something like, well, moving on, not saying I agree with what you just said there, or that I even understood that, or how it was relevant to the question I just asked, but whatever… Here’s another question I’ve been meaning to ask? The guest might get offended, and never come back, but that would fit with what a lot of people on this thread seem to want. Win win.
I mean, I’m not against having Navarro and Conway and others up there, doing their thing. More light, and all that. But, rather than try to engage them in a debate - a fool’s errand, if you ask me, because they are never, ever going to concede anything - it should just be hinted (made clear, actually) that what they’re saying is so non-sensical that it doesn’t bear any sort of discussion or rebuttal other than bemusement. It’s the host’s show, after all.
And then, because it’s the host’s show, at the end, after the guests are gone, the host can trot out the fact checks and give a little editorial about what bull pucky we just heard. Kind of a blow-by-blow replay, with commentary.
I know, a fantasy. But I like it.

Navarro is becoming more and more unhinged as the days go by. There’s really no reason to put this demented crank on television and give him a forum.
And isn’t this idiot the “trade advisor”? What sort of relationship he going to have with China after this unhinged racist rant? He should have left that to almost anyone else in the Administration. I’m sure they would have been thrilled to do it.

The way things are going due to their mishandling of this pandemic, I expect every one of these lying, stupid, delusional, Trump-licking motherfuckers to come down with the virus. Can’t wait to see Peyote Pete and Kokaine Kudlow trying to suppress their violent coughing spells during a FoxToons interview while Doocy, Kilmeade, and Generic Blonde No. 27 grimace in horror as they scream that the virus is disappearing and that Trump is God.
When it happens, I hope I have enough Kleenex, Bounty paper towels, and Charmin to wipe away my salted tears. Tears of laughter, of course.
