This is not “liberal versus conservative”.

This is United States or not.

In a letter written on Sept. 25 to Dr. Francis Collins, the director of the institutes, Bright wrote that he longs to “serve the American people by using my skills to fight this pandemic,” and that “taxpayers who pay my salary deserve no less.”

So, not including Trump.

Welcome to the Biden Administration, Dr. Bright.

Your expertise will be welcome, valued, and implemented.

Absolutely. We’ve needed what he’s proposing since January.

ETA If they’re smart they called him as soon as they heard he was leaving. Both in practical planning and as a campaign move it would be powerful.

And then people wonder why more whistleblowers don’t come forward.

Everyone who has has been retaliated against, and without any consequences.

Ridiculous.

Get Bright on the news, singing like a bird. Let’s keep Trump’s Covid illiteracy and malintention front and center and their house of cards crumbling.

“Having exhausted all efforts, on October 6, 2020, Dr. Bright submitted his involuntary resignation,” Bright’s attorneys wrote.

Kind of like I involuntarily divorced one of my ex-wives I guess.

Much like Dr Fauci, I have great sympathy for someone who actually understands how important this is being trapped in an administration hell bent on doing the opposite. I can’t imagine what kind of stress this must induce in the competent members of the ‘Deep State’.

It’s amazing all the damage this “administration” and the republicans have managed. Here and internationally.

It’s horrific. This sort of brain drain happening in so many agencies will take years to recover from.

That’s by design.

Thanks, Obama.

(No, really. He appointed Bright.)

Because honest to GOD in Trump’s America we won’t have any scientists, doctors or experts advise us. Just charlatans, grifters and crooks.

Someone get Dr. Bright in front of a camera and let him rant out a few attack ads. It’ll be cathartic for him helping to take down the worst president ever.

The question comes to mind repeatedly how the resignation of any individual who is the paragon of achievement, knowledge, ethics, and expertise will move the mountain of bullshit that their agency is forced to acquiesce. It is in this case that Bright’s resignation will allow him to speak openly about the systemic abuse public health experts continue to endure. They endure abuse because of their allegiance to facts over political expediency.

The involuntary resignation surely sounds like a legal angle. While not being an expert in in any way, it sure sounds like is shoving his foot into a closing door with the anticipation that it will open again with a new administration.
