That’s coz Cunningham was a fighter pilot ace, he actually did risk his life in service to the country.

This one is a worthless piece of crap who has done nothing for anybody and ought to spend a long time in a crappy prison. And have all his stolen wealth taken from him and redistributed appropriately.

And let’s not forget that Santos made up about 90% of his personal background, history, and resume to help get elected and just because it made him feel good about himself.

But … can anyone rock a crewneck sweater better than him?

Answer: Yeah, just about everybody - because he’s got a dickhead sticking out of the top of his.

This.

The substantive issue is how easily a thief and conman fit into that universe; a match made somewhere other than heaven. If he hadn’t been elected he would have been better off.

Independent of Santos there is a non-trivial issue of what “due process” means for the question of expelling a member of Congress. Does it mean a criminal conviction must occur before the 2/3 vote in the House or Senate? The Constitution does not require that. And, unlike an impeached federal officer, an expelled member is not barred from future public office. I personally think that if the evidence is strong enough as determined by an Ethics Committee investigation then an expulsion is required. And the evidence doesn’t have to be of a provable crime, just conduct that the House or Senate finds incompatible with serving the public. The Santos case checks both boxes because the conduct was seriously criminal.

It appears that the Golden Dukes has an early front runner who is already making the turn and headed for the finish line. He’ll be hard to catch.

Sorry, I forgot he’s a lawyer that’s argued before the Hague.

I think he flew a P 51 in Vietnam.

ETA. More than a few years ago, before Daly carved up Meigs Field - a mostly private airport on the lake front - to stick his thumb in the eyes of the rich rethug business elite, we were sailing out of Burnham Harbor to watch the air show as four P 51s took off over us.
SWEET. And very loud.

Important OT news…

And for all of this, nothing will happen to this guy. He’s such a coward that he won’t even face his constituents and run for re-election. He claims his family has been targeted with so much vitriol that he cannot begin to deal with it, so he’ll sit out the election.

Until he figures out another way to grift from it all. The kid has never done an honest day’s work in his life. On the outside, he’ll actually have to figure out how to make a buck, legitimately.

As far as the crimes committed, this will all mysteriously evaporate in the near future and we’ll never hear about it again. That’s how GQP grift works.

Well, Golden Duke does have a ring to it. Maybe we can make a special award like the Irving Thalberg Lifetime Achievment and call it the Santos Success or something.

nailed it
