White House trade adviser Peter Navarro wrote a memo all the way back in January warning the Trump administration of the havoc the COVID-19 pandemic would wreak in the United States.

So ā€¦ even a social scientist knew.

That the warning was ignored was no surprise. That it had to come from their resident social scientist was however. Iā€™m sure more than this fool tried to get the Administrationā€™s attention but thatā€™s just a suspicion on my part.

So 23 Feb is the day of reckoning on this? Thatā€™s the day it was no longer a Democratic hoax?

Nancy, hereā€™s a prime piece of evidence for your investigation of the mis-handling of the pandemic. A marker, so to speak.

Iā€™m sure the warning was swept under the enormous pile of papers on the Resolute desk, or it was ignored in favor of rallies and golf.

Trump Iā€™m sure was waiting on Hannity and Rudyā€™s advice

Yes, dealing with external reality is not this White Houseā€™s highest priority ā€¦

I know weā€™ve just heard from Rudy, but Hannity has been uncharacteristically quiet through this whole thing with the virus.

Wonder what heā€™s up to in the dark?

Interesting that the NYTs obtained a copy of this memo shortly after Navarro had his unfortunate experience in the media.

Any task force member who ā€œwants to be cautiousā€ about obtaining the funds ā€œhas come to the wrong administration,ā€ Navarro wrote.

So who is going to admonish Pete for being ā€œnaive and stupidā€ in writing this?

The Obama administration warned Trump. The a Pentagon warned him. The CDC warned him. His trade advisors warned him.

At what point do we we stop calling this incompetence and start calling it ā€œmaliceā€?

He may have been told to shut up. My opinion is these talking heads with their misinformation initially about the virus may be in legal jeopardy. Just my opinion. I

So, can we take Navarroā€™s enthusiasm for chloroquine as trying to make nice for this horrific faux pas?
Not the warning, but putting it in writing (which, I presume, means he wasnā€™t getting much attention when he tried to speak about it.)

I think he means ā€œfeel free to be reckless.ā€

No, Trumper donor billionaires are heavily invested in the stuff. Thatā€™s all you need to know about that.

Yes. Innit, though?

Maybe thereā€™s a Good Guys version of QAnon out there, exposing the incompetence/malfeasance of this administration. Call it . . . Quinoa.
